Thready Thursday…

Well seems I have not sat at the sewing machine for a long time, so I dusted it off and turned it on!

Jacob always has his hands full when he is doing his chores with his iPod because he wants to listen to his music "while working" so I decided to make him an iPod case for Christmas - searched the web but couldn't find the "exact" one  I wanted (most had zippers or are girlie) so I kind of winged it :)

First I gathered these things together which I already
had in the house; a pair of old jeans, a key chain clip
and some fold over elastic (love this stuff).

Then I made a lanyard following the
instructions I found at SewCanShe

Then I cut of the bottom of the
pants leg from an old pair of jeans

Sewed up the two sides that I cut
If you want to add velcro or some kind of snap
closure to the top I would suggest doing it BEFORE
you sew the cut sides together.  Unfortunately I DIDN'T
think about it until AFTER I was completely finished
and had to sew the velcro in last - not so much fun!

Attached the lanyard to the side I sewed up.

I am sure it didn't need to go all the way
down the side but I made the lanyard
so long that I just did it that way.

Turn it out to the right side

 iPod fits in...  YAY!!

and it is ready to hang on a loop of his
jeans so he can listen to it while walking
around doing his chores or whatever!

I will probably let him "decorate"
it with some fabric markers.

Thanks for taking a peek,
See ya next time!

Faith, you're one very creative lady - I'm sure your son is going to be extremely pleased with his Ipod cover. Not to mention it's washable. :80)
