January Stitch From Stash

I found this challenge on one of the Stitching blogs I read and knew it was the perfect one for me!

My XS stash was an uncontrollable mountain of things I "needed" but somehow never managed to stitch up or even remember I owned!  I think that is a dilemma that most of us stitchers suffer from.  Last year I started getting a handle on my stash by creating a database and entering in all the charts I owned in to it and weeding out the ones I no longer had any interest in. It is still an ongoing process as I am all finding new stash here and there around the house; in a closet, a bag, a box...and who knows where else something may turn up!

The purpose of this challenge is to stitch from our existing stash instead of buying new stuff.  I am hoping that this challenge will help me put a dent however small into my mountain and maybe get it down to a hill :)

We do have a budget of $25 a month to buy things that we might need like fabric, threads or a pattern that is screaming your name!

So here is the report from my first month of the challenge...

Amount Spent:   $0

New Starts from Stash:   I stitched 2 charts from my existing stash

Twirl aka Smoosh from Amy Bruecken Designs

Sports Balls from CyberStitchers.com
designer Cheryl Van Wormer

WIPs or UFOs worked on:   None for January

So far so good! YAY!  I hope everyone participating in the challenge had a successful January. Please stop by at the end of February to see if I am still staying with in my budget and Stitching from my Stash!

I admire all of you Stitch from Stashers - I am just not ready to take that plunge yet. Especially as I have just discovered some more "must have" designers! Aaagghh!

Well done on your determination to Stitch solely from your stash.. that's something I am doing this year altho' I haven't joined any groups doing that.. but I decided that in this year I would stitch each project till it was finished and not start anything new till at least two of my wips are completed. I only have 4 so I don't feel too bed when I look at the numbers some people have!!
Happy stitching and good luck with your TT too

Congrats on a successful January. I think it is a wonderful idea to Stitch from Stash.

I hope to database my charts soon - or at least start - I am tired of buying them more than once...

Thanks for sharing

Congratulations on not spending anything and finishing 2 great projects last month! I also spent Zero but it's getting really difficult to resist buying more stash!
