My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/09/21

Welcome to another Sunday update.

Not much going on in Arizona this week. The temps are continuing to rise and restrictions for COVID seem to be going away. I think that to be on the safe side I will continue to wear my mask when I am out and about in the world.

This week I continued to work on Pretty Little Chicago and I think that I am finally enjoying it again and getting back into the rhythm of it! Thank goodness 😊

Progress 05/09/21

This week I started working on that orange peachy colored building on the right. That is The Chicago Water Tower and Pumping Station and it survived the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. It is a long time myth that this was the only building that remained standing after the fire but really it was the most iconic structure left standing. Large sections of the south and west sides of the city were never touched by the Fire. The Water Tower then stood as a symbol for a city determined to rise from its own ashes. You can read the history of the building or about the Great Chicago Fire by clicking the links above if you are interested.

Now to see how much I can finish on this piece during the next week!!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
see you next week with another faithful update!

It's going to feel so odd going out without a mask when the time comes, isn't it, Faith? I will probably start soon...

Love your progress on your Chicago piece--a city with such an interesting history! Enjoy your weekend ♥
