My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/20/25

Hello Stitchy Friends! I do hope that you had a wonderful week! I had a pretty good week; we finally got the long expected rain. It really made the hot weather a little cooler and we were able to finally relax a bit! There is nothing else really happening around here except that I had another FINISH!

I finished all the stitching on the Reindeer Bauble Ornament! I don't want to stitch them into the ornament shape until I am closer to Christmas, this way I can safely store them, without smashing them.  I also want to get a piece of scrapbook paper to cover the stitching on the inside, so the stitches are not able to be pulled out by anyone. So without much further ado... here is the Reindeer Bauble!

The World of Cross Stitching
I added the LAST 55 Xs to finish the stitching.
I will make them into ornaments closer to Christmas.

Then I spun the tiny decision wheel and it decided that I should work on the Peppermint Purple's 2024 Annual Blackwork SAL. I have missed this piece! This will be the piece I stitch at the Mall for a few weeks. I am hoping to get plenty finished in that time.

Designer - Clare
I added 417 stiches this week

As far as the project that I will be stitching at home there is no decision wheel needed! I will start on the next Christmas ornament in the pile. I would like to stitch them all so I am not rushing (as usual) at the last minute.

So that is all for this week.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by to see what I am up to.

Hope to see you again next week!
Until then don't forget to
stitch, stitch, stitch!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/13/25

Hi there! I hope everyone had a great week. It is pretty good here. We are still in the 100s with very small amounts of rain here and there. This will be a very quick post, even though I have really been stitching and I have a finish to show for it, finally!

The first stitch I have for you is the Quilt Block Sampler! I am so happy to finally have it finished and I love how the variegated floss turned out on it. Thank you to everyone for all your comments on this piece over the time I have been stitching it, I think looking at those comments helped me finally get to the end.
Loretta Oliver

Added the last 185 stitches on 07/11/25.

I also worked on the Reindeer Ornament this week. I did manage to put in all the cross stitches and some of the back stitches but last night my eyes were to tired to continue. I do hope to have all the stitching finished on this one this week, so I can start the next ornament. I won't FFO them until closer to Christmas so I can mail this one right out. I tried to draw my own penguin for the missing ornament I need but I see that I am not really very good at drawing!

This week I added 430 stitches.

Thank you for stopping by!
I appreciate it and hope to see you next week.

Stay safe and keep on stithcing!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/06/25

Welcome Everyone!

I hope you are doing well! Where you able to get in any stitching time? I hope you were.

This week I tried to keep busy working on three different pieces. But I found that I had this problem while stitching and it is called... watching TV shows and documentaries! I was concentrating on them and neglected my stitching; among other things!  I always watch TV while stitching but I guess this week the television was more interesting than the needle. So I didn't get in a lot of stitches this week.

First, I worked on the Quilt Blocks. I was hoping to finish this last block but unfortunately I didn't quite get there! I am not going to say this is the week because that always seem to jinx my plans. So maybe you can just come back next week to see where I get to.

Loretta Oliver

Put in 141 this week.

Then one of the ladies in our stitching group wanted us to stitch something patriotic on the Fourth of July,  So I dug through my WIPs and came up with this piece featuring a flag. I changed the wording from "Long May You Stitch" to "Long May You Wave" because it just seemed like the right thing to stitch. I noticed I still have some of the white stripes to stitch and I have to finish the pole. I did finish the stars on the top but I guess I put the wording over it.

Added 111 stitches this week.

And last but not least... I worked on the Reindeer Ornament. This piece suffered the most because of watching the TV but I am getting him finished. I think he is looking pretty good and he will look awesome when he is assembled!

I added 174 stitches this week.

Well that is it for the week, we have been around 100° each day but we finally got a little rain. We are suppose to get some more this week and I hope we do. It helps cool things down a little

Thank you so much for stopping by to see me!
I hope to see you back here again next week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/29/25

Welcome Everyone! I hope that you are doing well! Everything is great here in Arizona. The weather forecasters are still promising rain, though I have not seen any yet. Hopefully it will be soon because the birds do not want to eat their food in the heat. We (and most neighbors) have NO shade around our homes. A lot of homes have cacti growing in their front yard since this is the desert; but that does not provide any shade either; putting out water during the summer is not really a good idea either as the sun heats it up. It is not easy being a bird here in the summer months.

So on to my stitching! This week was a repeat of the last where I only stitched on the quilt blocks and the reindeer. I made good progress with them so let me show you!

First up, I'll show you the quilt blocks. I am still working on the last block and it looks like it should be finished this week. Then I have a fill in a few places I missed when I originally stitched those blocks.

Loretta Oliver
I worked on this on Tuesday and Friday during our
weekly get togethers and I put in 158 stitches this week.

Next up is my first Christmas ornament of the year, the Reindeer Bauble. I am getting kind of excited because I am about two thirds of the way finished, and you can really see the reindeer. I think the scary part of this will be cutting it out because that always makes me nervous!

I put in 413 stitches on this piece.

I have still been looking for a penguin ornament like these, but I haven't had much success. I have thought about trying to make it on my own, but I am not an artist!

So, I think that is it for the week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/22/25

Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a great week. We have been in the 100s for a few days now and despite having A/C it is HOT everywhere; so much for the beginning of summer!

This week I stitched on two pieces so this will be a quick post.

I took the Quilt Block Sampler design to the our stitchy group and stitched it there this week and I think I will do the same next week. It is kinda easy to stitch even with distractions!

Loretta Oliver

Put in 274 stitches this week.

Then I decided to start working on my Christmas Ornaments for this year. I have been wanting to try doing some 3D ornaments and I decided that this would be the year! Yay me

This was a new start and I put in 412 stitches

This was one of the kits that was a freebie with The World of Cross Stitching magazine that I bought off of eBay. It is really cute and I am anxious to finish it. I also managed to find a snowman and Santa but no luck on a penguin yet.  The only one I did find would be $40 some odd dollars to get and that is more than I am willing to pay so I am still on the hunt for one if you happen to know of one or see one somewhere! Thanks

Well that is it for the week!

I want to finish the stitching on the reindeer by next week. I hope you enjoyed your visit and you will be back again next week to see if I have made any progress or not.

Hope to see you again next week!
