My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/22/26

Good Morning Stitchers! I hope you had a great week and that your weather has warmed up. Our weather has warmed up so much that we broke some records this week. Starting on the 18th thru today we have had record highs. I really don't mind but I do wonder what summer will have in store for us.

Just Cross Stitch Magazine, Autumn 2024

This week I continued stitching on the seasonal quilt and I finally finished the quilt!! I was so happy that the quilt was finished, at least until I looked at the next section! LOL  It is full of leaves that have fallen to the ground so that means a bunch of confetti. Luckily for me, it was not as bad as I thought it would be.

I put in 819 stitches this week.

Now this piece will be going away for a bit since it is time for me to work on a Peppermint Purple SAL. I swear I need more hours in a day along with more days in a week so I can get in more stitching!

I am STILL listening to The Drawing of the Three by Stephen King and now that it is almost finished, I am starting to get in to it! Story of my life, I guess.

It was a pretty nice relaxing week and that is it for me!

I hope you have a beautiful week full of stitching.

Please Stay Safe

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/15/26

Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend. We are having terrific weather here. When I was young I thought this was normal for Arizona since they said it is "always hot in Arizona" and when you are young you take everything as literal. We have been between the 70s and 90s all March! It is even  supposed to be over 100 later this week! I must admit, it is even to hot for me this early in the year. Sorry if you were some of the people who had one summer day and then snow the next day. That was pretty crazy!

This week when I spun the wheel, I landed on The Autumn Seasonal Quilt and all week I have been trying to finish this darn quilt! I think that tomorrow it will finally be done and I can move on to other parts of this project; and to think that I have three more seasons to get through!

So let's see what kind of progress I made...

Added 874 stitches this week.

So that is it for the stitching this week!

As for the books I didn't do that good this week. I couldn't concentrate on listening or reading so I did neither. I did start the second book in the Dark Tower series; The Drawing of the Three. In my opinion. for what that's worth - it is just a little better than the first in terms of the back and forth, past, present and future. People keep telling me to hang in there, they get better... oh goodness; I certainly hope so!

Moving on to my head injury, it is still looking pretty ugly. I think I will call and see if I can get some antibiotics for the big bump on my forehead because it is looking pretty bad and I can't really tell if the swelling is going down or not. It is funny how people will avoid looking at or talking to you when you look like this!

Anyways. I think that is it from me for now.

Have a wonderful stitch filled week!

Stay safe.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/15/26

Welcome to my place! This week it was cold and rainy here in Tucson but it is supposed to warm up for a couple of days next week, thank goodness.

I only have one piece to show you this week because I spent all my stitching time this week working on it only! And guess what, I finished it!
Added 865 stitches for the week

This week I listened to another Stephen King book called "The Life of Chuck." It is a pretty short story, so it didn't take any time at all. After that I debated with myself on starting an SK series called "The Dark Tower" because taking a look at the first book title and picture, I convinced myself it would be a western. So I talked to a couple of friends who are also fans of his and they convinced me to try it out and so I did! The first book is called "The Gunslinger" and I am enjoying it so far! I guess it may technically be a western but King describes it as a post-apocalyptic end of the world type book.

So that was my week.
Now I need to go spin the wheel to see what is next to be stitched.

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/08/26

Hello Stitchers, glad you could stop by. This week I have a finish to show you! So I am going to hop right in and get started. I think it will be a quick one today.

Rhona Norrie

First up this week was the I Stitch Sampler. I managed to finished all the stitching on it, finally! I did not add the beads, mainly because I didn't buy any since I am NOT a big bead person and I think that makes me like it like it is, beadless!
Finished with 264 stitches this week.

So after I finished that I continued to work on the Love is Patient piece. All those stitches I need to put in the cat are taking quite a while, but I think I am almost halfway finished with the cat.

Finished with 592 stitches this week.
writes
And that is all the stitching for the week!

As far as books, this week I re-read Carrie by Stephen King. This was actually my introduction to Stephen King and his books. I read this when it first came out in 1974! It has a new introduction read by another great author, Margret Atwood for the 50th anniversary of Carrie. Also the great Sissy Spacek narrated the book which was a bonus surprise for me.

Thank you once again for stopping by!

Have an awesome week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/01/26

Hey Everyone! How is it going today? I am still hoping that you have not gotten any big snow falls and that your weather has warmed up some! When I watch the news I see so many places that are snowed in and then I start remembering those days and then I get cold immediately! I guess memories are hard to forget sometimes.

So now it is time for the stitching!
Armada Designs

First up I have the Nintendo game Contra for you. I am so happy to announce that this block is FINISHED! I was so tired of stitching those trees and the grass and am MORE than happy to have finished it.

Last week I added 213 stitches to finish this block.

Nintendo will get put away until it comes up on the wheel again.

Rhona Norrie

Now I have the I Stitch Sampler to show you! It is thisclose to being finished. I think that all it needs is the backstitching on the flowers and I will probably stitch those today.
I put in 376 stitches this week and not many more to go!

Just Cross Stitch Magazine

When this came up on the wheel I was happy! I think it is a cute one. So I got out the chart and stitching and I couldn't find the stinkin' floss. So I searched and searched for it and finally found it. Evidentially I moved it to another box and forgot to move the label! But by the time I found it I wasn't able to get much stitching (better than no stitching) done but there is always this week! yay

Put in 45 stitches.

I also read Stephen King's book, Salem's Lot and it was a long one. I "plan" to read (or re-read) some of his books this year. I usually read books via audiobook now while I do other things, like stitching and stuff around the house and yes, they count the same as reading a book! 😊 There are just not enough hours per day.

So, that is it for me this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stay safe and keep on stitching.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/21/25

Evening Everyone

Uh oh, Christmas is really sneaking up all of a sudden! I have to hurry up and get finished. The ornaments always seem to take me so long or maybe it is because it doesn't get cold where I live and so I don't realize that Christmas is here!  Trust me, I don't miss the cold but it does help move you along once you realize it is winter.

So this week I FINISHED stitching the Santa chart, thank goodness.

Personally, I think he turned out pretty cute!
This week I put in the last 239 stitches.

So I still need one more ornament for my grandson. So I was flipping through some old Just Cross Stitch magazines and found Santa's Apron. I showed my daughter and we decided would be perfect for him since he is always cooking and baking.

 Santa's Apron
(picture from Just CrossStitch)
Only got in one day on this new start but added 145 stitches.

Then on Saturday I assembled the 3D ornaments! They were pretty easy to do and I LOVE them! I like them so much, I may look for more to do! LOL

And that is that for the week.

This week I need to get Santa's Apron finished and I will be ready for Christmas. Are you all ready?

I hope you enjoyed seeing my work for the week.

Have a safe and wonderful week and I hope to see you next Sunday!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope you are on Santa's good list.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/22/19...

...just a tad bit late!

Well, a few days ago I was going thru my stitching lists to finish up my 2020 plans when I noticed that I did not finish my bunnies!! I guess I was so happy when I finished Jingles that everything else went right out the window!

Anyways... I got right on it and here it is!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/03/19

Hey Everyone! Hope you are good and that you survived Halloween. We didn't start getting trick or treaters until 6:30ish. When they started coming they were in big groups which is nice (less answering the door!).  We had a super big bag of 200 something pieces of candy and by 7:30 we were out of candy! It was a nice quiet evening and the kids were cute as ever.

This week I worked on and finished the November bunny.

I love how the autumn leaves turned out, they were stitched in DMC 4510. One more bunny to go!

Next week I think I will bring out another old one!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/18/19

Hey People! Hope you all have had a great crafting week.

I have been busy putting needle to thread and got a few things stitched up!

I finished this one that I started last week

Better Not Pout
Just Cross Stitch Magazine
Christmas Ornaments 2018 Issue
First Stitch 08/08/19
Finished 08/13/19

It is missing a couple of small jingle bells and a bow in that big empty space there, so a trip to Joann's will be coming up soon.

Then I decided to stitch this one for Jacob's friend Leanna. It was a super quick stitch.

Warm Hands Warm Heart
Just Cross Stitch Magazine
Christmas Ornaments 2017 Issue
First Stitch 08/15/19
Finished 08/17/19

It's nothing fancy but I think she will like it.

Also the beads came in the mail so I added them to the snowman.

William's Winter Stocking Cap

Christmas Ornaments 2018 Issue
First Stitch 07/30/19
Finished 08/17/19

I think he is super cute! I have not used beads in a long time but I do like the outcome.

Now I NEED to get busy with my two monthly pieces and see about my neglected Halloween banner while I figure out how to finish these up.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/11/19

Well Hello There!

Last week I showed you some of the ornaments I was making for Christmas this year. I was working on the snowman and he needed some back stitching along with beads.

William's Winter Stocking Cap
Christmas Ornaments 2018 Issue
First Stitch 07/30/19
Progress as of 08/09/19

As you can see the back stitching is finished but I had no luck finding any of my beads so I had to order some. Hopefully they will be here within the next week and I can get them done soon; though he is pretty cute without them. That spot on his hat is not dirt but rather floss that came through from the other side so I will have to get my tweezers and pull it out!

Then on Thursday I decided to start ANOTHER ornament. This one will be for Tia's boyfriend, Jaye. I don't know if he likes handmade gifts or will even appreciate it so I figured I will just make him something simple so he doesn't feel left out when he is here Christmas morning and I won't be to mad if he doesn't like it.

Better Not Pout
Christmas Ornaments 2018 Issue
First Stitch 08/08/19
Progress as of 08/11/19

This should be finished in day or two and then I think I get to start on my LAST ORNAMENT for 2019! This one will be for Jacob's BFF, Leanna. He said not to make her one but I figured I would do it anyway because he has a tendency to change his mind at the last minute and I ain't trying to rush at the last minute this year. If he doesn't want to give it to her then it can hang on our tree.

I am getting ornamented out and will be glad for them to come to an end!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/21/19

Well here go, we have another week with TWO finishes!

They are small but every finish counts. This week I decided that I would start my Christmas ornaments for the year. YES you heard me right, I decided that I should do them during "Christmas in July" instead of trying to jam it all in during the last two weeks of December again! LOL

Every year the members of my family that I stitch ornaments for get the same theme. First up is my niece Abby and she gets reindeers or Rudolph.

Dashing Through the Woods
Christmas Ornaments 2018
First Stitch 07/16/19
Finished 07/19/19

It accompanies the piece I made for her last year.

I guess I should look and see if I have some more of that same fabric to finish it with. Then I stitched up Jacob's penguin ornament for the year.

Penguin with Star Garland
Designer - Passion Broderie 77
First Stitch 07/20/19
Finished 07/21/19

His mouth and cheeks look funny but a little bit better in person.

So that is two down and two to go, maybe three. I am thinking of stitching one up for Jacob's BFF. Wonder if I can find out her favorite theme without letting her know why or maybe I should just "assign" her something. Decisions, decisions...

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/23/18

Evening Friends!

Well the race to beat the clock was on this week! I accomplished "enough" but not all I wanted to do though I am sure my family will be happy with what I did accomplish!

This week I started and finished and made into an ornament

Santa's Hat and Boots
Christmas Ornaments 2018 Issue
Designer - Keslyn's
First Stitch 12/16/18
Finished 12/23/18

Then I made Two Penguins into an ornament but unfortunately two became one due to time.

Two Penguins
Designer - Corinne
First Stitch 12/05/18
Finished 12/13/18

And last but not least this one became an ornament and then I looked at it and realized I forgot to attach the tassel!

My Tasseled Cap
August 2017 Issue
First Stitch 11/29/18
Finished 12/04/18

I am so glad I got these finished and again I see that I will NOT late until the last minute to make ornaments next year (yeah, right)!

I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed Christmas surrounded by your loved ones and that Santa is good to you!
