September YOTA

YOTA day was yesterday but I slept away most of the day so I missed posting.

YOTA (normally) happens on the first Saturday of every month and it is the time when we show our stitching progress for the past month.  You can go here and find out more information about it and please feel free to sign up so we can see your monthly progress!

I have been concentrating on three main pieces lately so here is my progress on them.

August YOTA

WOW here it is the beginning of August already, the year seems to be flying by!

Good Morning!

The house is VERY QUIET so that means it is a rare Saturday morning that has no urgent plans as everyone including the three dogs is still sleeping - except me, also this is YOTA Saturday!

March YOTA

Well March seems to have rolled around pretty fast this year and since it is the first Saturday of March you know what time it is - YOTA TIME!

YOTA is designed to showcase our stitching especially the WIPs and UFOs we have been working on during the month. This month I have still been stitching away on the four teacher pieces I needed to complete and guess what!  They are ALL FINISHED except for the charms and framing.  It feels good to have them finished early though and now I just need to get together with my daughter so we can go look at frames or come up with some other creative ideas to ready them for gift giving. Here are the three I completed this month and if you are interested you can see the fourth one on my 2014 Finishes page.

February YOTA

Today is the YOTA day!  The first Saturday of each month is YOTA day where we show what UFO we have been working on but UNFORTUNATELY I did not work on my YOTA piece.

I have four pieces that I have to do for my daughter and grandson and they have deadlines (teacher's gifts)...so I am trying to finish those up so that I can work on MY stuff without worrying about not getting these finished in time.

I did finish up one of the teacher gifts.

January YOTA

Well here it is the first Saturday of 2014 which

means it is also the first YOTA of  the new year!

This year I will again concentrate on

2014 Stitchy Plans!

I love when the new year comes - everything seems to have a clean slate and a new beginning!

I have quit making resolutions except for one and that is to be the best person I can be!

On the stitchy front though I have made a LONG OVERLY AMBITIOUS list of things I “want” to stitch. I am pretty sure I won't get to all of them but I am determined to try my very best!

And the even better part is that ALL of this is in my stash already and I am quite sure I have more than enough fabric to do the ones that are not kitted up already.

I am also planning on participating in a bunch of monthly stitchy group blog SALs that I hope will help me focus on my stitching and blogging.

In 2014 I will continue on with the TUSAL, IHSW, YOTA and the new version of the WIPocalypse.  Every month Measi has listed different themes for us to write about so we can all get to know the stitchers we follow a little better and I am looking forward to this twist!  This year I also plan on starting with the Turtle Trot which encourages stitchers to work on their current UFOs and WIPs. Then there is one more and I am truly excited about this one because we are being encouraged to stitch from the stash pile that we already have in our house! It is called Stitch from Stash and I hope that this one will seriously help me make a dent in my stash pile while saving me a few dollars.

Here it is - December already...WOW another year is almost over.  This is the first Saturday of the month so that means today is YOTA day!

Normally I stitch on Dinosaurs for my YOTA piece but I needed a little break from that one and all the blue so I picked something colorful out of the WIP pile and finished it up.

Wow - I can't hardly believe it is October already... The year seems to be flying by though (thankfully) we are still having lots of days with summer temperatures.  I am NOT complaining though - SUMMER is my time of the year and I LOVE the HOT weather!

So now for the important stuff - the updates!

The temps are still HOT though I am sure the Autumn weather will be here soon enough.  I for one am not looking forward to it.

It is the first Saturday in May and the sun is finally shining!  Hopefully spring has finally arrived and it will stay this time.  We are supposed to get some rain in the next few days but I will definitely take it over the extended snow and freezing days we had recently.

Also since it is the first Saturday in May it is YOTA day.  YOTA is a SAL where you show monthly progress on a UFO of your choice. If you would like to join us we you can still sign up!
