WIPocalypse Check-in #12

Here we are at NUMBER 12 - wow only one more to go before we close out the year!

This month...of course I got lots of XXX but it seems as though I am stitching on more new starts than I am finishing up my WIPs!  Doesn't seem right but...that's ok with me ;)

Here is what I stitched since the last check-in.

First up are the NEW starts

I had these Stitch-A-Mugs in my stash so I stitched them up for family for Christmas gifts.

This one is for my son

This one is for my daughter
but since she reads this blog
I have to keep it under wraps :)

This one is for my grandson

My next new start which I HOPE to finish this week is
Santa Stop Here

The only WIP I worked on this month is
The Rose of Sharon

This is how it looked when November started

and this is how it looks now

Hope you had a great month too!
I would love to see what you have stitched
so leave me a message and I'll check you out!

Thanks for taking a peek at my month full of stitches
hope to see you next month with even more Xs!

WIPocalypse June Update

Time for the June update!  Can you believe it is June already - WOW!

Since the last update I have worked on quite a few pieces...  are you ready to see them all?

First up was Full Bloom from Cross-Stitch-Art

This is how it looked in the beginning
and this is how it ended up!

Next up in the rotation was L*K's ABCs of Parenting. It started out like this

and ended up looking like this!

The next week I decided to finish a piece I started last year from Kincavel Krosses. It just needed the border but it took the ENTIRE week to put it on!

And here it is all finished ;)
I ♥ it!

Next up was the Rose of Sharon which came as a kit from Design Connection.

I restarted it on 14 count and this was I ended up with. Love it and can't wait for it to come up in rotation again.

Then I had a new start. a SAL from Seba Designs FB group.

Thanks for checking out my monthly update
Hope to see you on July 3rd with more

WIPocalypse April Update

Well imagine that... I have been busy surfing from blog to blog looking at everybody's April update and I failed to post my own update!  Oops...better late than never I guess.

I stitched a bit on a couple of pieces since the March update and here they are.

First up was Janlynn's Bathtime Rules.
This is before
And this is after!

Next up was a fun piece for my grandson ~ Lizzie*Kate's Dude from It's A Boy Thing

It was so much fun ~ I finished it! :)
and now I am CONCENTRATING on Lizzie*Kate's One Hundred Years.  I am trying to finish this before moving on to another piece because I need it for a gift!
Here is the before...

and this is after.
I have more stitched on it but
I did not take a new picture yet.

Hopefully this weekend for my weekly update :)

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

Not much progress on the stitching front this week. It seems like every time I got a free minute; I went to sleep.  I stitched one day for about thirty minutes on the Easter Egg piece and this is how it looks now.

I am going to stay in my rotation though and this week I have pulled out the Janlynn chart Bathtime Rules.  Hopefully I will spend more time awake and stitching this week!
Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching,
see ya next week with another update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

This week was my week to stitch on the Dinosaur chart.  I put in 418 stitches this week and have about a million more to go! :)  LOL

Here is my progress picture

Next up in the rotation is my Anna Waite Design, Easter Eggs.

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching,
see ya next week with another update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

YIPPEE...
There is another finish in the house!  :)

Tonight I finished The Nativity Scene by Broderie.

It seems like such a simple design yet I had to frog it about five times, but I FINALLY finished it!  On the chart the designer has some swirls going around the entire chart but I liked it without the swirls and also felt they took away from the scene.  Hope you like my adaptation of the design.

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching,
see ya next week with another update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

Well this was the International Hermit and Cross Stitch weekend but I only managed to get in a small amount of stitching over the weekend.

On Friday evening I got in a few stitches on L*K's One Hundred Years

And today I stitched a bit on Broderie's Nativity Scene.
So much stuff going on at the house this week that there was NO stitching during the week.  Hope to have a calmer week this week and maybe I can actually get some stitching in! :)

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching,
see ya next week with another update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

This week I ordered some more envelopes so I could get all my projects into their own envelopes and get everything arranged into some type of rotation.

This is how the new envelopes that I ordered from Amazon look.  The new one is the red one in the front.
I ordered ten envelopes and I already had six which make 16 envelopes and they EACH HAVE a project!  Don't know how that worked since I started 2012 with 15 projects and just completed my second finish, which should be 13 more to go ~ NOT 16! :D Whatever, I am just going to go with it! LOL

So here is how my rotation looks!  Most of my projects are small so I mixed in the few big ones I have with the small ones.  I decided that I am going to do a weekly rotation. Every Monday I will pick up which ever project is in the front of the tote and work on it thru Saturday.  Doesn't matter if I get to work on it for five minutes that week or every single day but on Saturday that project gets packed up and put in the back of the tote. Sunday is Lizzie*Kate day - so that will be my "transition day" LOL
When one envelope get emptied out...I will simply fill it with another project from my vast and ever growing stash! I figure this will keep me busy stitching FOREVER and EVER

So finally here is my stitching for the week!

I finished Sue Hillis' DysFUNctional.
I am going to miss stitching on this one because it is so colorful and it was a fun stitch!

I also got some stitching in on my L*K One Hundred Years and here is the progress picture for that!

That is it for this week!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come back next week for another stitchy update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

Haven't felt like doing to much this week...guess it was just one of those weeks!  Haven't felt like doing  anything.

Stitched some more on Sue Hillis' DysFUNctional.

No Lizzie*Kate day this week; just didn't feel like stitching on it!

Then on Saturday I decided to straighten up my floss!  Who KNEW it would take almost two days :(  My floss cabinet is completely restocked with every floss color and then I have another bobbin of each thread as a spare in those plastic floss boxes.  I wound bobbins and labeled everything for two days and this is how my cabinet looks now :)  I am very pleased with my effort...

My drawers of DMC floss
My floss cabinet!  I love this cabinet :)
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my stitching!
Hopefully next week I will have a better update.

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

Not to much stitching time this week but I got in a little.

Stitched a bit on Sue Hillis' DysFUNctional.  I just LOVE the colors on this one!

Sunday is my designated Lizzie*Kate day so I stitched some more on my One Hundred Year piece.  I am planning on doing this for Jacob's Kindergarten teacher for the end of the year gift so I want to make sure it is finished in plenty of time so I am going to concentrate on this one until it is finished.

Last week I bought these envelopes at Michaels to store my charts and fabrics in when they are not being stitched.

This is what my envelopes look like

and this is what my current projects look like all organized in their bin!

Thanks for stoping by to look at my stitching,
see ya next week with another update! ;)

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

YIPPEE!!!
My first finish of 2012!

L*K Boys Will Be Boys from It's A Boy Thing!
This weekend was the first International Hermit and Cross Stitch weekend of 2012 and it couldn't have come at a better time.  It is cold out there and there is a lot of snow too so we didn't want to go anywhere so my entire family enjoyed a Hermit weekend. I spent most of Saturday stitching and I finished the above L*K piece.  :)

Sunday I spent a bunch of time on the internet, blog surfing!  Finally stitched a little bit in the afternoon on my L*K One Hundred Years.  I didn't get very far but here is a progress picture.

L*K One Hundred Years
Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching, see ya next week with another update!

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

It is the 15th! Yippee…
That means I have stitched on each of my 15 projects for the Cross Stitch Crazy 15 Facebook group and for the Yahoo Group Stitching Sisters! I already posted the first seven so here are the updates for the next eight…five are new starts, two are WIPs and one is a long abandoned UFO from 2005.

On Day 7 I started Lizzie*Kate’s ABCs of Parenting

On the 8th I started Lizzie*Kate’s ABCs of Aging

On the 9th I started stitching Easter Eggs by Anna Waite Designs ~ love this one!

The 10th brought me a bit of a challenge…I started stitching Rose of Sharon by Design Connection and I am NOT to sure I like it. It is supposed to be stitched over two but I decided to stitch it over one and that might be a mistake…I am going to try to stitch some more when I can and see how I feel about it. Maybe I can swap it out for some different fabric?

On the 11th I started stitching His Name is Jesus – didn’t get to far though

The 12th is another Lizzie*Kate design! Boys Will Be Boys from The It’s A Boy Thing Chartpak…love this one too! Seems I must really like L*K Designs

Then I picked up the UFO on the 13th and I so remember why I put it down! I am stitching it over 2 and I am not to good at that! Maybe if I had an evenweave fabric it would seem less stressful? To late now – I am about halfway finished.

On the 14th I continued with the EMS Flowers of the Month SAL I was doing with another group. I am almost finished with May. I already stitched March and April in 2011.

The last chart to round out the 15th is another WIP ~ Dinosaurs! I was terrified of this chart but with a lot of encouragement and direction of many online friends – I am doing it like I would any other project. I just know that this one will take WAY longer than any other I did cuz it is the biggest one I have ever attempted ~ 20 pages ~ YIKES! So far 331 stitches stitched and only 66,169 more to go!!

Thanks for looking at my 15 projects for 2012… come back next Sunday and see what kind of progress I made and leave a comment so I know you stopped by for a peek!
