My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/25/18

Hi Friends!

I hope all those who celebrated Thanksgiving this week had a great day! I ate to much food (must be a holiday thing?) and I feel like I am going to bust open!

On the stitchy front, this week I have a FINISH to share!

Maybe it will be finished into a long pillow?

Speaking of pillows though... I did make a small pillow this weekend out of the Christmas Penguin which will go under the tree for Jacob and his penguin collection.

I think he will love it!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/10/18

Hello Friend! I hope you have been having a wonderful week! The weather is warming up here in Tucson and we are in the low 100's now and I am sure we will be getting a little warmer as the summer goes on.

Last post I was telling you how I started working on that darn half (tent) stitch for the snow on the Christmas Penguin piece and since I was in a groove with it I just kept on until I finished it!

I must admit the snow looks good and really stands out but I'll tell ya I am glad to be finished with it!

And since I seem to be on a Christmas roll lately I have a new start that is also Christmas related! In addition to that it is my first HaED piece! It was a gift from a friend and as soon I received it I knew it had to stitch it up and added it to my "short list" of things to work on.

This is what it will look like once I finish it.

Here is the fabric all gridded up and ready to start the stitching.
The gridding alone took me three days since it is the boring part of stitching!

and here it is with the first Xs and only LOTS more to go!

I am going to continue stitching this for the next week
and hope I can make some great progress on it.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/03/18

Hello friends!

Last week I was working on Christmas Rules and decided to go ahead and stitch up the next rule.

Since I was in the Christmas spirit I decided to work on this piece next. I plan on making this into a small decorative pillow for the holiday.

I am finished with the Penguin part and I just have to fill in all the snow. And oh there is sooooo much snow! It has to extend all the way over on the left under my q-snap cover. The snow is in tent (aka half stitch) and I thought it would be faster but oh no, that is not the case! I have never worked with this stitch over such a large area before and I must say I am not really enjoying it all that much.

Well back to the stitching...

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/18/18

Welcome Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful week!

This week I pulled out the next project in my WIP Box and once I started looking at the chart I realized that I am missing two floss colors for it.  They are both DMC but they are in the Coloris line and I never bought those because I never thought I would need them! I guess that will teach me to pay closer attention when I am looking things over on the charts. So I ordered one of them and the other is literally for less than 20 stitches! I didn't want to buy it just for that so another stitcher (thanks Gay!) sent me some Wisper floss to use in its place since it is for hair and that will make it look fluffy. So then I packed everything up and moved to the NEXT one in the box and it just so happened to be another Christmas design.

So may I present to you...

This piece will be for Jacob as he is the lover of all things penguin and collects them.

Now to pull out the next piece in the WIP Box but since I still haven't received the DMC that I ordered, I am not sure what it will be!

have a wonderful week and I will

Sunday's Stitchy Update...

This week I finished stitching a little ornament for Jacob for Christmas.  The design was small so I figured it wouldn't take much time...right?  Well that was wrong.  LOL  I must have started this piece 5 times!!  First I found a mistake and I ripped it out and started over...then another mistake and I couldn't even get the floss out of the fabric and what I did get out left red marks!  So I threw it away and found another piece of fabric and started it over, and over and then one more time just to get everything right - ugh...so much stitching on such a tiny piece.  But now it is FINALLY finished - thank goodness now I just have to make it up into an ornament!
