My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/02/18

This week I have been busy working on my Halloween piece and I am happy to announce that I have a FINISH!

Also it was my birthday a couple of days ago

and my family spoiled me as always!

I received some great gifts from them!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/11/17

Well make that Monday rather than Sunday.

Sunday we went to see the movie IT and when I got home I was kinda to tired to blog. The movie was pretty good though and now to wait, wait, wait for the second part of it to come out! If you have seen the original or read the book than you know what the "Losers Club" is; either way this is not really a spoiler...this part only dealt with the "Losers Club" as children and the next will be them as the adults.

As for stitching...

My friend Deb Haggerton gifted me with a belated birthday present! Whohooo I was so excited to receive it. It has been on my HaED wish list for a while and I was debating over it during the Labor Day Sale but decided I don't "need" another chart in my stash when I have so many already. Well it turns out that I did NEED another chart in my stash and she sent me this!

Now do you remember last week when I said that I thought I spotted a mistake? Well I did, so I had to end up frogging all the white that I stitched. Why does taking it out take so much longer than stitching it up? Well I finally got it all out and started over. Can't say I was excited about it one bit so I decided to change colors from the white to a pink and then back to the white and here is where I am at now.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/03/17

Well lookie there...

It seems that I had another birthday and my family has once again spoiled me - a lot!

I got a ton of stuff! I asked for and received some shelves for my bedroom so I can display all my pretty things! They are not up yet, so no picture of them. I also asked for some more puzzles and they did not disappoint in that department.

I think that 3,000 piece one may keep me busy for a LONG while.

An old friend of mine sent me some beautiful flowers to celebrate the day too.

The family also took me out to dinner. Birthday person picks and I chose a place called Serial Grillers. We are still trying out new (to us) restaurants here in Tucson and this one has been on my list and with IT coming out next weekend (I can't wait) I thought meals named after serial killers seemed appropriate. These were some of our dinner companions.

The food was good and I ordered the Red Dragon

calzone and it was bigger than humongous! 

It was very good and now I have leftovers to enjoy too!

Then over to the best ice cream place ever, Cold Stone Creamery to pick up ice cream for (much) later!! Sometimes I believe that Jacob (my grandson) enjoys the birthdays more than the person of honor! He loves the whole wrapping of the presents, then the unwrapping, dinner, dessert and everything else in between - he even likes doing the shopping for presents.

Then I thought, what the heck...no cross stitch stuff?  So I bought some as a gift for myself!  I always, well almost always get the current Free Pattern of the Month series over at Stoney Creek. There were a few (very few) that didn't "speak" to me so I skipped them. I usually just file them away with the million other things to stitch...someday in the future but the current one keeps saying "STITCH ME" so who am I not to listen? So I went ahead and purchased the fabric, fabric holder, and a couple of the button packs needed.

I still need a few more button packs and I need to look thru my Kreinik to see what colors I need and I will be all set. Oh yeah, I need to start it and then finish it too! ha ha I am SURE it won't be ready this Halloween but there is always another!

It was a great birthday weekend all-in-all!

But I guess you guys came here to see stitching and not my birthday!

I started another for the Christmas Ornament SAL. Haven't gotten very far yet but here it it...

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Happy birthday to me... yippee!!

Today is my birthday and my family helped me celebrate it in an amazing way; though just being surrounded by the three of them is enough for me.

First of all my son Matt bought me a chart from my local LNS (I have a love for bunnies) and gave it to me along with a gift certificate so I can go back and get whatever I need.

My daughter, Tia and grandson, Jacob bought me the following two charts from Northern Expressions Needlework along with all the floss (above - so colorful) needed to stitch them both up! I have really been eyeballing the Twisted Rainbow Sampler - can't wait to start it - just need to search for fabric.

Then they took me out to dinner - my choice Baker's Square (hadn't been there in a long time) and then Cold Stone for dessert YUMMY!

The stitchers in two of my Yahoo Groups have a birthday floss club and these are the cards and skeins of floss I received from them.

And now for the reason you are here...my weekly stitchy update - I have been having a hard time trying to get motivated to stitch but I did get in some stitching on
