Well, a few days ago I was going thru my stitching lists to finish up my 2020 plans when I noticed that I did not finish my bunnies!! I guess I was so happy when I finished Jingles that everything else went right out the window!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/03/19

Hey Everyone! Hope you are good and that you survived Halloween. We didn't start getting trick or treaters until 6:30ish. When they started coming they were in big groups which is nice (less answering the door!).  We had a super big bag of 200 something pieces of candy and by 7:30 we were out of candy! It was a nice quiet evening and the kids were cute as ever.

This week I worked on and finished the November bunny.

This was a quick one! Two more sections and this piece will be finished.

Now to figure out what I should stitch next.  I have a few pieces that are close to being finished with the stitching so I need to look at them all and see which one speaks to me first or  maybe the loudest? Next year I think I am going to have to get back on my rotation instead of just picking out whatever. I feel much more organized when I knew what was coming up.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/1519

Hi there everyone!

I want to start off by saying I am wayyyyy behind on reading blogs but I promise to get back in the swing of things soon. One of our computers has had a MAJOR meltdown that I have been trying to deal with some what unsuccessfully and accompanied by a lot of slamming things around, muttering under my breath and tears of frustration. I have decided to look into the Geek Squad (whom I know nothing about past their commercials) and see if they can at least download the information from the hard drive. It is SUPER frustrating!

Anyways on to happier subjects...

I managed to squeeze in some stitching through all this and have a couple of mini finishes!

First up I managed to kick the frog to the big curb in the sky and finish a section of the Halloween banner.

It is the first bunny that has two colors in it, and I love how it looks. Though I did have to do a reverse image on the bunny walking with the flag because the blue field of stars is always supposed to be on the left of the flag and knowing me, it would have bugged me every time I looked at it. I know, I know...I am strange; but I think it is a good strange!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/23/19

Hi Everybody!

I hope that the warmer weather has FINALLY made it to your neighborhood! We are having lots of days in the upper 90s and lower 100s here while we wait for monsoon season to start! I love the rain when it comes but it doesn't really last long; it starts and ends quickly but it comes down in bucketfuls! There really is not a sewer system here, instead they depend on "washes" and it takes quite a while for the rain water to reach it so the streets get kinda flooded which makes it real fun for driving!

This week I started and finished the next mini bunny in the series.

Then I had some time to look through "THE BOX" where I found this blank piece of fabric. I am pretty sure it was screaming at me that it feels neglected and unloved since I have yet to do anything with it so I pulled it out for next week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/05/19

Well Hello  Everyone! 

Sorry to say I am STILL behind reading blogs and responding to messages. Many of you know already that I suffer from chronic pain amongst other things and last month when I went to see my doctor he doubled my pain meds.

Well... my pain was under control but I could barely stay awake! I would be in the middle of doing something and then next thing I know I would be waking up! It wasn't fun! I have since stopped taking the additional meds and will let him know when I see him again. I feel sooo much better now! All that said, I will be trying to catch up with everything soon.

In the meantime I did manage to get in a bit of stitching this week.  I completed one bunny and started on the next one!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/03/19

So this week in Tucson... 

I live near an Air Force base and this week they are practicing for upcoming airshows. These are just a few of the vintage planes they will be flying in shows around the country. I will be the first to admit I know NOTHING about vintage planes other than I see them in what they call the "Boneyard" that I pass by not to far from our home so I asked and found out these planes are:

lead plane is the Lockheed P-38 Lightning, left formation is Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, the right formation is North American P-51 Mustang and bringing up the rear is Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor. It makes for beautiful though noisy sky.

On another note...

the last day of February each year is Rare Disease Day which is set aside to raise awareness to them. I am the lucky recipient of one of these rare diseases called X-Linked Hypophosphatemia (XLH) more commonly known as rickets. Ours is hereditary and not from a diet lacking in Vitamin D as many have suggested to me. As far back as we can trace is my Grandmother who did not want to discuss it AT ALL. 

So since this disease is X-Linked it changes sex with each generation. My Grandmother had three sons and out of them only my Dad was affected. He had two daughter and both my sister and I were born with it. I then passed it on to my only son. My son has the worst case in our family and has decided that he does not want children as any daughters he would father would be guaranteed to have this and he didn't want to pass it on. 

Rare Disease Day celebrated this year by asking people to Show Their Stripes. Stripes because the zebra is the official symbol of rare diseases in the United States and is noted for its black and white stripes, which are central to its uniqueness; which makes them rare!

So anyways... I have some striped pajamas that I took my picture in. So if you don't know me in real life now is your chance to see what I look like! Don't worry - it's not to scary! LOL

You can't tell in this picture but since the XLH affects our bones and their growth I am pretty short. A few years ago I topped the charts at 4 ft 6 but I am losing bone mass and not sure how tall I am now as I can no longer stand straight. I was extremely bow legged as a child and had MANY operations in my younger days to get my legs straightened. Since they really couldn't strengthen the bones though many times the surgery was not as successful as they hoped but in the end my legs are basically straight. We all know how the bones weaken as we get older and arthritis comes to take up residence and so now I have severe arthritis in just about every bone but I am still getting around with the help of a walker (purple of course)! 

Oh yeah, then there was a bit of stitching too...
