My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/08/25

Good Evening, Friends! I hope you had a wonderful week and got in lots of stitches. I enjoyed a nice and relaxing week! YAY!

So anyways... I stitched on my Halloween piece, Spooky & Sweet this week. Hopefully, I will have it finished by Halloween this time! LOL

After I finished with that one for the week I decided to move to the Autumn Seasonal Quilt. The little quilt squares are so easy to stitch since it’s the same pattern for each one, but they are also very time consuming since they are so tiny.

So that is all I stitched for the week, just two pieces. All I could think was how nice to not change pieces each day. Nice and relaxing and no pressure to move on to another piece!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/29/24

Well hello everyone. Welcome to the last Sunday of 2024! Sometimes it seemed as though the days just went by so slowly I had to push them to get them over the hump to the next one and other times they went by so quickly I don't even remember seeing them come or go!

I hope 2025 brings a lot of laughter and happiness to everyone's lives. I am look forward to seeing what everyone is doing and creating in this upcoming year. 

So this week in stitching, I had one new start and put in lots of of stitches on my blackwork piece. 

As many of you may already know, I stitch lots of penguins for my grandson. So I made a small start on a new one for him.  It will be something I can do at stitching because it won't take a lot of concentration.

Then I decided to add some more to the 2024 PP Blackwork SAL. I am still trying to finish the border since I had so many problem with it, I am being extra careful stitching it this time.

Then I didn't know what I wanted to stitch so I just reached in the box and pulled out something which ended up being a Halloween piece. I did some work on the Witch's Hat.

Then for the end of the week I thought some flowers might brighten things up. Unfortunately the only parts I got to were leaves, leaves and more leaves! It looks like I have to wait for the other carnation before I get any color here so all I need is patience!

So that is what I did this week. This week I did not work on any prompts and I think I feel better and more relaxed already! Now if the rest of life would just fall in line too then everything could be perfect!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/01/24

WOW, December already! Eek, that means it is crunchtime for Christmas stitching! I still need to finish the stitching on one ornament plus the back stitch on a couple. Then get them ready for the tree. I ALWAYS plan to get them done earlier than December but you know how plans go! I will have to work on them soon! 

This week I am just jumping right into the prompts because I have lots to do around the house.

This was the left over one that didn't get on last weeks post. The prompt was "Stitch on something that can fly." So I don't think I have ever seen a ghost but in any movie you watch the ghosts fly everywhere they go, even right through walls.

Now onto this week and my next stitch was "Home is Where the Dog Is." We can finally see the dog's outline against his house! Yay that means progress was made though there are still lots of stitches to stitch! Oh, the prompt was "Stitch a WIP with a frog, dog, bear or chicken" so this definitely qualifies.

The next prompt to be stitched was "Stitch on a WIP which has a dangerous creature in it." I don't know about you but I think a dinosaur is is pretty dangerous. I know I wouldn't want to be around one and I will NEVER go to Jurassic Park!

I have never used one of these floss organizers before but since I seem to spend most of my time threading my needle when working on Dinosaurs I thought this might help speed things up.

Next I needed to "Stitch on a WIP you would consider an experiment." Well with as many times as I had to frog this one I felt it was an experiment; after all aren't frogs used in experiments? Well I feel like I have had more than my fair share of them on the Blackwork SAL!

The next prompt was to "Stitch on a WIP that contains 2 of their powers (water, something fast, light, garden, animal or a tool)." Well all of these thing are featured in Nintendo games so it was a logical choice. The people are always fast and they need tools to do whatever they are attempting and the animals, I think they are in every game!

The next stitching prompt is very fitting for this next stitch. "Stitch on a WIP that you had forgotten about or wish you could forget about." I always forget to stitch it or I push the Christmas pieces to the bottom of my stitching pile because in my mind I have plenty of time to get to it later and then the next thing you know, it is December!

I managed to add 125 stitched on 11/29

The last one for this week is "Stitch on a WIP that needs a 1000 year hibernation (e.g. a  project that has been naughty and needs a time out or one you are bored of and needs to put away for a bit)." This piece is a VERY boring stitch. All you do is stitch the same color in a row all the way down to the end and then move on to the next color and do it again. I do love this piece but boring is the word of the day.

Well that was the stitching for the week. I do hope that you guys are enjoying the pieces I stitched 

and how I decided on those pieces. I hope that they will do this same event in 2025. I like trying to pick out a piece for each prompt. Some of them take all week to figure out a reason! LOL

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/10/24

Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you had a great week. The Summer weather lasted forever and now the Fall weather has come in strong to announce it's arrival. I wish it would have crept in slowly so I could get used to the chilly air gradually! But you guys know Mother Nature, she does things her way and we just have to adjust. 

Oh yeah, when I was answering posts this week I noticed that EVERYONE was set to No Reply. They must have had some kind of update or something that changed everyone's post settings. The sad part is I can't see how to change mine back. I looked through the settings but couldn't find the one needed to change it. If you know how to do it, can you please please please let me know too. Thanks.  

Well I have stitched the week away to the prompts and while I missed one (laziness) I still got stuff accomplished. So here are this weeks prompts and the pieces I thought fit in with them. 

The first prompt I worked on was to "Stitch away on my oldest WIP it to grant it some new life." I started this piece in 2011. I do have one older than this but it must be packed somewhere secret because I can't find it! This is the fourth flower of the twelve for this piece.

Another prompt they listed was "Stitch in one of these colours; Orange, Teal, Pink or Indigo." Well I just so happened to have something in Orange to stitch so here it goes; a pumpkin used by the trick or treaters to collect their candy stash!

Now they would like it if I stitched in another color. "Let’s bring a little more Joy to our lives by stitching in yellow!" At first I couldn't find anything after but looking through all the WIPs I lucked out! I found something with some yellow.

I put 246 stitches into the moon on 11/08/24 and it's not finished!

The last prompt I worked on this week was "Stitch on a project with a book." I am nor sure this will qualify or not since you can't see the actual books yet! If it doesn't count I have asked for it to be a penalty stitch instead. I was going to stitch a couple of books on to it but I can't make up my mind as to which color pallet I want to follow. More on that at a later date. 😉

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/13/24

Oh brother... I went to start this week's post and found last week's sitting there as a draft! Oops... 

Hello! I hope you had a great week with cooler temperatures but not to cold! Though there are only ten Fridays until Christmas! It is sneaking up on us pretty quickly so it is time to start the Christmas stitching and other projects. 

Every week the weather person says that we will be down to double digits by the weekend and every week they build up our hopes only to disappoint us time and time again! We are still in the 100s and have broken our own record of the most days in the 100s in a year! 

Each week we receive new prompts for stitching and while you you don't have to do each one I try to do them all while also filling in my acrostic puzzles. Changing project each day has kind of grown on me and keeps me busy. I enjoy touching each project and getting a chance to stitch on some that I haven't seen in  while!  Like this first one! 

On Monday the first prompt I stitched on was "Stitch on a WIP that went missing for awhile (either from your storage spot or from your brain)".  Well I have a few projects that can fit into this category but I have been seeing quite a few people stitching this one lately. So here is mine which has not been stitched on since 2022!

The next prompt I stitched on was "Stitch on a project that contains something fragile." I think that snowmen are pretty fragile! Have you ever seen one starting to melt when the temperatures start to rise? They just start losing things like their face and then their whole head! The first time Jacob saw this happening he was very upset.

My next prompt seemed super easy... "Stitch on a project that is decidedly NOT musical." Well that is probably everything in the WIP Box so I just picked something I felt like adding some stitches to. I am about a a fifth of the way through this one so I thought it would be nice to add a couple if squares to it.

But given all the charts I already have I couldn't justify it. But then my enablers aka my children, Matt & Tia bought them for me and kitted them up, problem solved! LOL
