My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/06/17

Hello Everyone!

Nothing much new here except that my grandson has started back to school this week. That puts us back in our regular routine, which can be a very good thing. 

Now...ta da...

I am so very happy to say that this week I have a FINISH!!  I have FINALLY put in the last blue X on the Michigan piece for my brother.

I plan on turning it into a banner type hanging before I send it to my brother. I have been looking at a couple banners online and I have a "general" idea of what I am doing in my head but if you know of a tutorial for a banner, feel free to send it along and thanks in advance!

I am getting much better and faster with the buttons. The first month it took me forever trying to make sure they were lined up and evenly spaced and I dreaded them. This month I just zipped right through them! 

And now I am back to this...BLUE!

I am just about the finished with the yellow and then on to filling it in with the blue. The end is in sight!!

I got some new Needle Minders this week too from

The Everyday Stitcher. 

I think they might be my newest addiction; you know cuz I needed one! ha ha  I still have more on order from her.

This week I really wanted to be further along than this! LOL I wanted to have that whole section I am working on filled in but it was not to be...  Oh well, maybe the next time?

We had temperatures in the high 90s and low 100s this week here in Tucson and so our air conditioner decided to quit! What an opportune time! My daughter called the warranty company and they came right over the next day and got us back up an running. Thank goodness!

Earlier in the week I stitched up this quick piece. I joined the monthly club at Just Another Button Company where they will send you the material, DMC, a needle and buttons for each month. They sent all the charts in a booklet with this first chart.

Evening Friends!  I do hope that everyone is doing great.

I would like to send out a Happy Mother's Day to all my friends that celebrated today. I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your families.

This week I continued work on the Michigan Logo for my brother.  I made more progress than I thought and that is what I love about keeping this blog...you get to actually see your progress from one week to another!

I am keeping this out for another week and hoping I make some good progress on it! It is so easy once you get the yellow on since you just have to fill it in with blue.  I am already on my third skein of blue! Good thing I went shopping and bought eight more skeins for this project :)

This week I have been working on the logo for my brother and let me tell you...it is petty BORING! LOL  So much yellow and now so much blue. Believe it or not this little section is just over 2,000 blue stitches and I have many more to go!

so much yellllooooowwww! LOL
Soon I will be adding blue so that may be a welcome change.

I was a bit upset when I finally looked at the chart to start it.  The description of the chart is that the chart is 200 x 200 and when I looked at it the top 42 rows and the bottom 47 rows are totally BLANK! I have never had a chart where those blank row and/or columns were included in the stitch count! I (being me) complained and she offered to delete the rows for me...really? I can do that myself but I told her that I think she should not include them in the final count. Don't think she was happy with my comments as she has not emailed me back again. 

Well back to the yellow!
