My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/22/23

Hello!! Our weather is still hot and breaking records here.  We have had a couple 100 degree days here this past week which is the latest date we have ever had them here. First we set the record on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday. Tuesday's record was probably the shortest record we ever held. How is your weather? Are you having cold or rainy days?

Today I have a happy dance to share! I FINISHED Boo Banner! I love how it turned out. Unfortunately I don't remember where I put the hanger for it so I will have to do a crafty area search for it and hope it turns up, though when I do this type of search I generally have a lot of distractions and so that takes me forever!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/15/23

Hello fellow stitchers! I hope you had a great week. I had a pretty good week but it was another was another busy one. I am hoping this week will slow down a little around here. 

I stitched on both of the same pieces again this week and one is getting close to a finish!! 

First up is one that is pretty boring right now since I am only slowly adding the borders to the pieces that will become the calendar tags. These designs are all stitched on perforated paper so I really have to be careful when handling and stitching it so that I don't rip it.

Of course I only have this out for stitching for about three hours a week and I estimate that for over two of those hours we are running out mouths talking about any and everything so that I may never get it finished! 

Now last week (see post below this one) I put out a question asking for any SamSarah information and sadly I have found out that they closed up shop. Luckily for me I had purchased all twelve months when they were available and now just need to purchase the calendar holder from Ackfeld. If you have never visited their site you may want to take a peek because they have many cute holders and stands.

Next we have one that will soon be off the q-snap!

Progress 10/14/23

I am currently doing the backstitch on the section you see here. I am amazed at how much backstitching there is on this piece, thankfully I already completed it on the top. I still haven't looked for any fabric for the backing so maybe I can get that in this week, but either way the stitching will be finished before Halloween! YAY

So that pretty much wraps up my stitching week. I KNOW I am way behind on blog and email reading so please accept my apology but I really hope to get caught up this week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/08/23

Hello Stitchers! Here we are at Sunday once again. I have had a full week; I won't bore you with the details but rest assured I have been very busy and I exhausted myself! Not so much that I couldn't stitch but busy enough to not want to do extra stuff. 

Anyways I belong to a local cross stitching group and they decided to have a stitchy meet up on Fridays at our local mall. I have gone to the first two gatherings and I tell you I have really missed stitching with others. It was fun getting to know and meet them in person and I look forward to the next get together. I looked through my WIPs/WFOs for something easy to take back and forth and start stitching on and I found this!

Progress 10/07/23

I am making pretty good progress with this one and still trying to finish it by the end of the month. Yesterday I was having a little trouble with the blending threads but i finally sorted that out. I am afraid that the purple one must have gotten cut somehome (maybe when they opened the boxes?) and it is coming off in small pieces. I finally managed to get enough to stitch what I needed to and after I am finished I will decide what to do with the rest of the bobbin.

Well I do think I have talked more than I thought I would, sorry.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/01/23

Well we made it to October! This year seems to be flying by. This is the time of year I start bugging my family for their Christmas wishlist and I start my shopping. I don't like waiting until the last minute to try and get everything finished. My family thinks I am crazy but they should be used to it by now!

And now for the stitching! I continued to work on Boo Banner and I made some pretty good progress but still have quite a bit to finish. I had some kind of crazy week here and because it exhausted me this will just be a quick post.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/24/23

Happy Fall Everyone! 

I hope that everybody that likes cooler weather is excited for the change of seasons. I really love summer but I think my favorite season is really spring. It is the time that the weather starts to warm up again but we don't have extreme heat. What is your favorite season? 

This week I continued to stitch Boo Banner. I would love for it to be ready for Halloween and I think if I only concentrate on this one then I can finish it. This piece called for Rainbow Blending thread and I haven't really used them before. They took a little getting used to but they do add a pretty little sparkle to the piece. I don't know if you can see the sparkles or not but they are the green and purple stitches on the sleeve and hat of the witches outfit.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/17/23

Hi Everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well and getting in lots of stitches! 

Well last week I had finally finished the stitching on THE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS that I thought I would NEVER finish!They still need to be finished off but I had to set them aside to get a little break from them!! 

So I then went to look in the infamous WIP Box but I just had no desire to look through it or spin the wheel so I just picked the piece in the front of the box and since they are in alphabetical order (I know I have issues) I pulled out the Halloween piece I had there!!

I am enjoying this piece so it will be staying out for at least another week. I am also participating in the International Hermit & Stitch Weekend (IHSW) on Facebook thinking it would give me lots of stitching time over the weekend but I didn't get in as much as I wanted to this weekend. I will need to plan my weekend a little bit better when it is time for next months!!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/02/23

Happy Sunday Everyone! 

Here in Arizona we are experiencing some pretty hot temperatures so the streets are deserted because everyone is staying inside in the AC and I can't say I blame them one little bit!

 I stayed in all week and just vegged out doing as little as possible aka stitching as much as I can. 

I am happy to say that on Monday morning the website for The Blackwork SAL was up and running again! YAY So that was the first thing I stitched this week.

Progress 07/02/23

After I finished the backstitch I started on the second page.

Tomorrow is the first Monday of the month so that means it is Dinosaur week! So I will be getting that chart out for a week's worth of stitching. After that, since this is July I will start a few Christmas ornaments. This year I am keeping them on the smaller side for a change!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/25/23

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a pleasant day today. We have had some extra hot days this week with temps in the 100s for most of the week. The temperature plans on staying there for at least the next ten days. Summer is here for sure!! 

Our dogs have a dog door and then run back into the house faster than they go out! They don't even bark at the neighbors or delivery people when it is this hot!

Here is my favorite picture of all our boys together.

They are all rescues and Damian and Appa came from the same home before they were surrendered to the shelter originally. At the shelter we only went in for one dog but they couldn't or wouldn't be separated so they both came home with us. At Christmas time Appa started getting very sick and losing so much weight that I was scared for him. When we were finally able to get him into the emergency vet (even the emergency vet had a long wait time) we found out the he has diabetes and is now mostly blind. Luckily he has lived in this house for six years so he knows where everything is (most of the time!) so he is able to get through the house easily and safely.

This week when I spun the wheel it landed on the Boo Banner piece! I haven't stitched on this one since October of 2022. I finished all the cross stitch on this page and started on the backstitch. I thought I could get some backstitching finished before I moved to the second page.

Unfortunately I was not able to work on  the Blackwork SAL this week because something is wrong with their website and the chart doesn't want to download. Hopefully they will fix it tomorrow.

Well the weather is definitely showing us that the season changed! It has been dipping down to the 30s and 40s overnight which makes mornings a bit nippy! The weather guy says we will be warming up again this week; thank goodness!

This past Monday I worked on Boo to finish out the month of October.

Progress 10/31/22

There are three ghosts there but they are hard to see because the back stitch isn't done yet.
This is where I am leaving it for a while. I am purpled out and needed a serious change.

So then I spun my Tiny Decision wheel to see what I should stitch next. Unfortunately it stopped on Boo but that was a no go for me! So I spun it again and it landed on Nintendo.

someone in the group kindly shared it with everyone.

This has started some talk on Facebook when I posted it. This and The Legend of Zelda were among my favorites and I played them often. We also played some family games since my kids were little then. I never got into the other game systems but I do play on my phone.

Did you play this game when it came out? How about other video games?

Today (Sunday) is a mandatory stitch day for the #StitchWitchy2022 for Embroidery Central's monthly stitch on Facebook. This is my third year participating in this and it is fun while encouraging you to stitch everyday because you have to post your progress each day. I love seeing everyone's daily progress.

So now I am off to see how much I can stitch between today and tomorrow but I think my hope of finishing the first page have been dashed!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/23/22

Here we are at the start of another week, Happy Sunday Everyone. This week we are going to have some good weather with no rain and temperatures in the 70s. That temperature is not to hot or to cold so it is pretty perfect to me. 

I just checked and there are only 63 days until Christmas! I need to get to finishing the ornaments I stitched. I will have to sort through some fabric for the perfect backers and then decide how to finish them off. I don't use YouTube or FlossTube but I think I may look around for some simple finishing ideas. If you have any site suggestions that you might use for ideas I would love it if you would leave the link in the comments! 

Do any of you stitch ornaments or gifts for Christmas? If so are they stitched up already or do you still need to get busy with them?

This week of course I continued working on Boo Banner. Sometimes it is so hard to see the white floss when I am stitching but it is coming along.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/09/22

Afternoon Everyone. I am just dropping in for a quick post today. I hope you are having a great weekend. We are still expecting more rain but the heavy monsoonal rains have stopped and the temperatures are in the mid 80s. Perfect weather!

This week I continued to work on Boo but yesterday I decided that with all the purple and no really identifying objects in the current stitching I needed some grid lines to help me out.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/02/22

Welcome to October Everyone!

In my opinion once October shows up the rest of the year flies by in a blur. Here in the states we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then New Years. Lots of stitching, shopping and family time. 

So here is a short post to put an end to September and a start to October.

On the last day of September I stopped working on Dinosaurs. I was kind of sad about it but not very sad. Here is how far I got.
