Well I got brave...

I have ALWAYS been nervous about the finishing process for my projects.

I worry that I will cut it wrong, sew it wrong, iron and burn it, well you get the idea... the list could go on and on and on!

I have been emailing with Rachel and with her encouragement in my mind I cleaned off my sewing desk and got busy! It didn't quite turn out the way my mind's eye saw it but I think it turned out pretty darn good.

So I am now presenting my first of hopefully many, finished bellpulls!

Scary Night Halloween
Designer - Stoney Creek

This was completed with all the threads, fabric and bell pull holder recommended by Stoney Creek.

I really wanted to show some of the purple fabric (like a border) on the front of the piece but I think I cut the backing fabric wrong and then couldn't figure out how to "wrap it around" and finish it. I think I may have to practice on some scrap material.

Thanks for all your ideas and encouragement Rachel!

Thanks for stopping by,
see ya next time!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/05/18

Hi there everyone!

Hope you are keeping cool since most places seem to be having some serious heatwaves here in the US. Today we got up to 106𝆩 F and I just LOVE how WeatherBug described the temperature!

Very hot! ha ha do you think so??

So last week I was working on section two of my Halloween banner and wanted to finish the moon before I moved on.

Then I started the next and final section.

Section One
Progress as of 08/05/18

Now it is going to be put away because two weeks is enough for one piece! I need to stitch something different. I wonder what is next in the WIP Box!

Hello Friends!

This week I have been working on my Halloween piece and that lemon-lime Kreinik has been giving me nothing but trouble! Thankfully I have it all in (for now anyways) and I can move on to the DMC.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/13/18

Hello Friends!

I hope you all had the most wonderful week! Today is Mother's Day here in the States and my Children have spoiled me once again! This is just a few of the many gifts I received

new jammies and a couple of puzzles! I also received some bunnies (a key chain and a couple of figurines) along with a new steering wheel cover. Here in Arizona steering wheel covers are pretty important because our heat can really cook the things inside your car to the point where you don't want to touch them!

They are also taking me out to dinner 😉 Normally we don't eat much red meat but every now and then a big old burger is just what you need! We decided to check out this new to us place called Lindy's off 4th.

I had the Velvet Hammer and onion rings and it was delicious!  There is also plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow!! Then we got Blizzards for dessert for way later in the evening (or tomorrow - LOL).

A few weeks ago I told you that I couldn't show my work because it was a gift for someone; well here it is! I stitched this for my Daughter, Tia for Mother's Day just to let her know how much I love and appreciate her and all she does for me.

The Golden Girls
Designer - WeeLittleStitches
First Stitch 04/23/18
Finished 04/28/18

I added in the second line of text to this piece.

Also I received these beautiful pouches from a very good friend of mine, Deb. I sent her a little something and she sent me these as a thank you! I LOVE them and she did such an awesome job on them. She even put in zippers and they are perfect!! That is one thing I would love to learn how to do, zippers...one of these days!

This week I did get in some stitching time and I finished section 5 of the Halloween banner.

Section 5

Here is sections 3,4 and 5 all together.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/06/18

I hope you all had a wonderful week and I think everyone should be starting the big thaw and warming up where you live.  Today we had our first 100° day of the year with many more to follow. Last year the highest temperature we had was 116° and very little rain.

This week I was having a lazy week and did not get in much stitching. I have been working on Scary Night Halloween and I love it but I just could not motivate myself to stitch. I think I may break my rule once again this week and keep it out so I can finish the current section or it may never have a chance at seeing Halloween as a completed piece!

Here's hoping this will be a great stitchy week for you and me!!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 04/08/18

Hello Friends! Hope you all had a great week 😊

This week I worked on my Halloween banner. I finally used the Kreinik thread and at first I was NOT impressed with it at all! Then I discovered it is GLOW IN THE DARK thread! How cool is that?  LOL I guess I am easier to impress than I thought!

I didn't have it under the light very long, just enough to get it to glow a little.

Next up... CHRISTMAS!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/04/18

Hi everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful week and your weather is getting warmer. Don't worry, spring is coming...soon!!

This week I started a new piece from Stoney Creek. It is one of those millions of free pattern series that they offer every month which I purchase most of and I am happy to finally be stitching a set!

Scary Night Halloween
Progress as of 03/04/18

I stitched up one of the six parts and started a second. I haven't stitched the kreinik section around his eyes yet because I have to remember where I put my Thread Heaven! Now on to another piece; it will probably the next one (or two) in the Well, Hello There series.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/03/17

Well lookie there...

It seems that I had another birthday and my family has once again spoiled me - a lot!

I got a ton of stuff! I asked for and received some shelves for my bedroom so I can display all my pretty things! They are not up yet, so no picture of them. I also asked for some more puzzles and they did not disappoint in that department.
I think that 3,000 piece one may keep me busy for a LONG while.

An old friend of mine sent me some beautiful flowers to celebrate the day too.

The family also took me out to dinner. Birthday person picks and I chose a place called Serial Grillers. We are still trying out new (to us) restaurants here in Tucson and this one has been on my list and with IT coming out next weekend (I can't wait) I thought meals named after serial killers seemed appropriate. These were some of our dinner companions.

The food was good and I ordered the Red Dragon
calzone and it was bigger than humongous!
It was very good and now I have leftovers to enjoy too!

Then over to the best ice cream place ever, Cold Stone Creamery to pick up ice cream for (much) later!! Sometimes I believe that Jacob (my grandson) enjoys the birthdays more than the person of honor! He loves the whole wrapping of the presents, then the unwrapping, dinner, dessert and everything else in between - he even likes doing the shopping for presents.

Then I thought, what the heck...no cross stitch stuff?  So I bought some as a gift for myself!  I always, well almost always get the current Free Pattern of the Month series over at Stoney Creek. There were a few (very few) that didn't "speak" to me so I skipped them. I usually just file them away with the million other things to stitch...someday in the future but the current one keeps saying "STITCH ME" so who am I not to listen? So I went ahead and purchased the fabric, fabric holder, and a couple of the button packs needed.
I still need a few more button packs and I need to look thru my Kreinik to see what colors I need and I will be all set. Oh yeah, I need to start it and then finish it too! ha ha I am SURE it won't be ready this Halloween but there is always another!

It was a great birthday weekend all-in-all!

But I guess you guys came here to see stitching and not my birthday!

I started another for the Christmas Ornament SAL. Haven't gotten very far yet but here it it...
