My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/25/23

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a pleasant day today. We have had some extra hot days this week with temps in the 100s for most of the week. The temperature plans on staying there for at least the next ten days. Summer is here for sure!!

Our dogs have a dog door and then run back into the house faster than they go out! They don't even bark at the neighbors or delivery people when it is this hot!

Here is my favorite picture of all our boys together.

They are all rescues and Damian and Appa came from the same home before they were surrendered to the shelter originally. At the shelter we only went in for one dog but they couldn't or wouldn't be separated so they both came home with us. At Christmas time Appa started getting very sick and losing so much weight that I was scared for him. When we were finally able to get him into the emergency vet (even the emergency vet had a long wait time) we found out the he has diabetes and is now mostly blind. Luckily he has lived in this house for six years so he knows where everything is (most of the time!) so he is able to get through the house easily and safely.

This week when I spun the wheel it landed on the Boo Banner piece! I haven't stitched on this one since October of 2022. I finished all the cross stitch on this page and started on the backstitch. I thought I could get some backstitching finished before I moved to the second page.

Unfortunately I was not able to work on  the Blackwork SAL this week because something is wrong with their website and the chart doesn't want to download. Hopefully they will fix it tomorrow.

Well, that is it for this week.

Have a great stitchy week!

And as always thanks so much for stopping by,
see you next week with another faithful update!

For now I am off to do some backstitching...

My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/17/20

Dog Lessons for People
Designer - Lizzie*Kate
This was my progress last week on the 10th

and here it is today!
Progress as of 05/17/20

I made pretty good progress on it. It needs two more lines and one word and it will be finished. I don't want to jinx it but I think the next time it is out I can finish it up.

Since we are talking dogs I thought that you guys
might want to see our collection of dogs.
They are ALL rescues. Bowser and Scruffy are the "old guys" at eight years old. Then we felt we needed another for some reason or another, so we looked online and saw Appa. When we went to see him we fell in love with him but he was so attached to Damian that they didn't want to be separated from each other so they came as a set. We jokingly call them The Twins and they are now four years old. Then my daughter  wanted a puppy for Christmas and she went to "look" around at the shelter and came home with Samson. They are a handful but how could we pass up those loveable faces?

Thanks so much for stopping by,
see ya next week with another faithful update!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Evening Everyone!

Well today we come to the end of July and the conclusion of the Just One July SAL hosted by Justine.

I worked on Dinosaurs all month and accomplished quite a bit for me especially with all I had going on in July. Helping my daughter find and purchase a home for us, moving little things over to the new place, shopping for appliances, breaking my last "good" pair of glasses, the loss of Pest our beloved dog and everyday life...

This is how it looked on July 1st

and here it is now

Progress as of 07/31/16

I plan on keeping it out to finish that section before I move on to something else.
Then I need to get back to Dreamcatchers so I can get that sent off to my brother.

I would like to take a minute to say THANKS to Justine for hosting this SAL and
I do hope that she will do it again because Dinosaurs! needs a lot more stitches!

One more thing!!
This weekend was Empty The Shelter at our local Animal Control so we went to browse and see what they had available! Well...we found one we LOVED and in the same cage was another who was also calling our names and wanting to go home with us so instead of taking home a new member of the family we took home two!

Introducing

They fit right in with Scruffy and Bowser
even though they weren't sure they wanted to welcome them in!

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching and stuff
see ya next week with another faithful update!
