My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/17/23

Hi Everyone! I hope that everyone is doing well and getting in lots of stitches!

Well last week I had finally finished the stitching on THE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS that I thought I would NEVER finish! They still need to be finished off but I had to set them aside to get a little break from them!!

So I then went to look in the infamous WIP Box but I just had no desire to look through it or spin the wheel so I just picked the piece in the front of the box and since they are in alphabetical order (I know I have issues) I pulled out the Halloween piece I had there!!

Boo Banner
This is my progress from 07/02/23
and this week's starting point!

It looks like I put this down right before I started the ornaments!

Here is my current progress
Progress 09/16/23

I am enjoying this piece so it will be staying out for at least another week. I am also participating in the International Hermit & Stitch Weekend (IHSW) on Facebook thinking it would give me lots of stitching time over the weekend but I didn't get in as much as I wanted to this weekend. I will need to plan my weekend a little bit better when it is time for next months!!

Well that seems to be it for today,

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching

My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/28/23

Hello Everyone! This week I returned Nintendo to the WIP box and then I spun the wheel so I could pull a new WIP out of the box. The wheel landed on Marmalade! It is a design by Carolyn Manning of CM Designs and I love her designs but quite honestly a lot of them are all starting to look alike with the only difference being the colors. Not that that will stop me from stitching them!! So here it is...

I will keep it out again this week since this square is not quite finished yet.

And that is it for the week except for a couple of celebrations we had recently!

First up; Jacob (my Grandson) received his second Culinary Certificate!

He thought he might want to be a Chef but has since changed his mind and only wants to do home cooking which is fine with us! He hasn't mapped out his future yet but when you are 17 it is generally hard to decide on the rest of your life and he has plenty of time to decide. For now all he wants to do is work and have a good time.

Next up, we had an awesome celebration!
Jacob's High School Graduation!!
Here he is in the processional.
There were approximately 750 students graduating with him.

And here he is with his diploma!
He was extremely happy to have received it.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I have been up to.

Have a great week and I will see you next Sunday!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/04/22

Happy September!

In my last post I wrote that I would be pulling out an old WIP to work on through this month. And with much urging from my Grandson, Dinosaurs is now out and being worked on.

I started this piece in 2012 and last worked on it in 2018! At the time I put it in the WIP box (all the way in the back) I was only on page 7 of 20. I hope that I can get some decent progress on it during the month.

This is the chart

Here goes nothing, I am off to work on it again!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/27/22

Hi Everyone!

This week I spun the tiny wheel to decide on what I should stitch. It landed on one of my favorites (though I think they are ALL my favorite) that I haven't stitched on in a long while, Twisted Rainbow!

So here is what it looked like when I got it out of the WIP Box:

Twisted Rainbow Sampler
Progress 03/17/19

Then Saturday night I noticed a mistake, things just weren't lining up! So I went to bed with the plan to deal with it in the morning. In the morning I still couldn't find it and I had frogged it M A N Y times and restitched it only to find it still didn't line up.

Progress 02/26/22

Then I finally spotted the problem! I missed stitching the bottom row ot the green which of course threw everything after that off; BOO!

So I am frogging it for what I hope is the LAST time for awhile but it is taking forever!! I will finish taking out the mistake and then hopefully stitching it again - but correctly this time before it goes back in the WIP Box!
Progress 02/27/22

So this is where I am now!

Well, thanks for taking a peek at my stitching
see ya next week with another faithful update!

Now off to see some floss about a frog!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 01/03/21

Happy New Year To Everyone!
May your days be filled with stitches of all kind!

This year I plan to try and clear out some of my WIPs and UFOs. I still have some new starts to throw in (next week as a matter of fact) but I hope not to have to many big ones to add to the pile. I will probably still work them in my crazy unorganized weekly rotation unless I just feel like it should stay out another week. I think it is gonna be a do what I feel like year for the most part.

I happily started out the new year with a finish!! I wanted to finish up the monthly piece I started in 2020 so I got working on it with the hopes of another 2020 finish but I missed that by a day.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/30/18

Hello Friends!

I do hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and got to do exactly what you wanted to do whatever that consisted of! We had a great day at home eating to much food while watching Christmas movies and playing with our new things.

Ever since the big rush to finish the ornaments I have not felt much like stitching so I worked on a piece that required no concentration at all. This is also my car project, the borders for the calendar.

Fun Every Day

I have also been bobbinating and going thru my stash to clean it up and reorganize it. Success!! It is all neat and tidy once again.

My WIP Box
of 19 projects

So anyways, a while ago Tia saw this saying on FaceBook and told me she would love to hang this in her new office. I said 'Oh, that is nice and it would probably look great in your office' and didn't say anything else about it.  Instead I got to work charting it out and adding a few elements to it. Once I was satisfied with it; I stitched it up for her! I decided to name it Power as I think we all need the power to help us thru situations and take control of them. She was totally surprised when I gave it to her for Christmas and I was only to happy to surprise her!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 04/22/18

Hello Friends!

I hope you had a great week this week and were able to get in some time for yourself and maybe some stitching for Hermitting Weekend!

This weekend was Hermitting Weekend for stitchers. It is like a big stitch in but you stitch from the comfort of your favorite spot. You can click on the IHSW icon above to learn more about hermitting!

I was able to get in some stitchy time and worked on my first ever biscornu!

Progress as of 04/22/18

I received the chart, fabric (which was already cut into two small squares) and floss from a good friend who didn't want to stitch it way back in 2010 or 2011. I started it then but soon got bored with it and into the pile it went. Now as I am TRYING to empty the WIP Box of projects this one came up in rotation. Looking at the chart I realized there was NO possible way it was going to fit on that small piece of aida. Why didn't I realize that way back then? Who knows; maybe I had plans to change it then but since it was at the bottom of the box for so long I can't remember!

Ok... back on track! I changed the things I wanted to change on the chart I had and finished one of  the squares. I was just going to stitch it twice, once for the top and then again for the bottom but once I finished the first square I changed my mind. So I opened up PC Stitch and designed a simple square that could be the other side! It will look just like what you see on the right side, just flipped around to form the square. Then will be the tricky assembly but that will be for another week as it is time to put this back in the box and move on to the next thing.

So that brings me to the WIP Box. I think I have made an executive decision (since it is only me, I wasn't overruled!) about the four UFOs still left untouched in the box! Since I still have some new starts (and who doesn't prefer a NEW start to a UFO) I will work in the remaining UFOs when something is finished and moved out. I started feeling that I might NEVER get anything finished since it is hard to work on 18 different pieces and it seems as though it takes to long to get back to each project!

Next weekend will be WIPocalypse weekend!!
I hope you'll join in!

Well that was a long post, so I will go for now!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/18/18

Hello friends!

This week was hermitting week but I didn't get to much hermitting in today but I did manage some!
You can sign up to hermit with either the blog group or on Facebook or both!

The next lucky piece to make it out of the WIP Box is something I haven't touched in two years.

I didn't get as much stitched as I planned but I think I always have bigger stitching plans than I actually stitch!

I already peeked at the next piece and it is of prehistoric quality! I think Justine may like it as she has been reminding me about it! 😉

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/25/18

Hi there!

I hope everyone is well. I know a few of you are recovering from the flu so I hope you are feeling better! Thankfully I missed that.

This week the next piece up in the WIP Box was a piece from 2014! It was easy to pick up right where I was because this piece doesn't have many colors or an intricate design.

This is where I was in March of 2014

My Sunday Stitchy Update 01/07/18

Hello all!

I hope your 2018 is off to a great start in every way. Mine seems to be as I have been busy stitching, organizing and planning!

My first finish for the new year is...

12 Days of Christmas
Day 12
Twelve Drummers Drumming
Designer - Margaret Sherry
First Stitch 11/28/17
Last Stitch 01/02/18

and here is another finish!

Well Hello There!
December
Designer - Hands On Design
First Stitch 01/03/18
Last Stitch 01/07/18

I also organized my WIPs for the New Year and cut new fabric for what I plan on starting. Here is my WIP Box all nice and neat for the new year.

On the front of the box the "First Out, Last In" is a reminder to myself NOT to go digging thru the box for what I want to stitch. The only exception to that will be things that have a monthly goal like the Christmas Ornie SAL. I plan on stitching L*K's Christmas Rules which does not really fit neatly into the themes but Kaye has graciously allowed me to join again this year! Yay, hope that helps me stay on schedule with that piece!

If you are interested in joining the
Christmas Ornie SAL for 2018
please click on the icon below and join the fun!

Speaking of SALs, if any of you are still looking for an SAL
to join for 2018 Loretta has made a list here on her page.

Good luck at only joining one. I am still looking over the list "just in case" I don't have enough in my WIP Box as it is!
Well now I am off to start Well Hello There! January.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/12/17

Oh my goodness, can you believe that last week I totally forgot to mention that I am featured as

Jo of Serendipitous Stitching features a new blogger every week or so and it was my turn to have my interview published. Jo also runs tons of Blog Hops throughout the year as well as the Hallowe'en Ornie SAL; she is a very busy lady!

I guess I forgot when I was doing my big Happy Dance!  Go on over and check it out and find out more about me although I usually tell it all anyways! LOL

Now for the stitching...

This week I have not one but two quick finishes!

First up the next kit in the Well Hello series arrived in my mailbox this week,

Well Hello There!
November
Designer - Hands On Design
First Stitch 11/08/17
Last Stitch 11/10/17

and next I found this in the bottom of the WIP box and I thought "Where did this come from and why is it not finished?" So, I decided to finish it up for this Christmas.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/05/17

Welcome Friends!

This week I wanted to share with you a couple of needle minders I made out of things I had laying around on my dresser.

I used to have the pewter Eeyore hanging in my car for a long time and then somehow he ended up in the house. The purple bunny is a pin that my son gave me for Mother's Day.  I didn't think I would ever wear it so I thought this was the perfect use for it.

I think they turned out adorable and I am already using them!

Now for the biggest HAPPY DANCE that I have done in quite a while!

Shades of Blue
is FINISHED!!!!

Shades of Blue
Designer - Northern Expressions Needlework

First Stitch 09/07/14
Last Stitch 11/05/17

This finish was a long time coming and I absolutely LOVE it!

Now, I have two more in my ginormous stash Gold and Wine and I would like to start one of these soon; maybe after the holidays. There are nine more in the series so  you know I may have to invest in those "someday" after all there is a Purple one! ha ha

Now to let my fingers do the walking thru my WIP / UFO box again to see what they can find to stitch next!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/29/17

First things first, I had some happy mail this week!

First off I would like to say Thank You to Tiffany over at TiffStitches a blog for the wonderful leaflet she sent to me.  She was clearing out a few things from her stash and she asked if I would like something and I picked...

Santa's 12 Days of Christmas
Days 5 - 8
Designer - The Prairie Schooler
Now I will be hunting for
the other days in the series!

Then I received my order from DMC! I ordered the new colors. Yes, I promised myself I wouldn't but something just came over me and well here they are in my stash!

Here they are in their tin case
which was much larger
than I thought it would be!
and here they are in all their
beautiful colorful glory!
 Such a wonderful sight!
Now to bobbinate them and put them in my floss cabinet.

Then I went to pick up the ceramics we painted last weekend.

The pictures show how they looked
before and after they were fired.

Now for the stitching...

Well I let my fingers go walking through my box of  thru my WIP / UFO box and they stopped on a piece that was almost finished, Shades of Blue!

This is where I was on Monday when I finally picked this piece back up
