Just a quick post this week. I continued working on my SAL and I finished part 2! 2 parts down, 2 parts to go. I have made a few minor changes along the way...some intentional and some not so much!

Hello Stitchers!

Hope that you had a wonderful week and you were able to get in some craft time for yourself! This week I worked on a couple of different pieces.

First up is the

Then I worked on Smoosh! I had the penguin and the cupcake done about two years ago but never got around to adding the words that I charted out. My grandson requested this piece based on this commercial that comes on during the Christmas season from Pier One Imports.

Then I worked a little on the maze today from part 2 of this SAL. We have all four parts now so I can just stitch it at my leisure! :)

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Evening Friends!

I hope that everyone had a fabulous holiday! Our day was good; my daughter cooked a fabulous dinner featuring a delicious spiral ham. I was stuffed but so satisfied!

I am happy to say that my stitchy bug came back some this week. I started something new which may have helped some ;)  Also, thank you everyone for your words of encouragement while I was looking for my bug and trying to get my motivation back.

I only worked on the maze on this section; there are words to fill in still. This is one of those pick your own colors or choose from many different combinations they gave you. None of their maze line colors were speaking to me so I used a variegated thread to try and achieve the same effect that they were going after.

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Hello everyone...

Hope you are all well and stitching away!

I have not felt like stitching for the last week or so but I have done some. Our weather is crazy; first one day is cold then the next day is hot - it is kind of depressing. On the warmer days I have been sitting outside with the kiddo after school and on the cooler days we are inside under our blankies trying to stay warm!  I will certainly be glad when the HOT temperatures get here!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Hello Everyone!

I hope that you all have had a wonderful week - full of warmer weather and stitching. The weather here is warming up - slowly but slowly is better than not at all. It has been rainy this week but you know what they say "April showers brings May flowers" and I am more than ready for some bright splashes of color from flowers along with green grass.

Good Evening People! 

Hope you have all had a wonderful week!  SPRING has finally arrived but the snow just keeps on coming! YUCK  Tomorrow morning we are supposed to have between one and four inches of the stuff. Thankfully they say it will melt away by the following day only to be followed by temps in the 60s on Wednesday. I will certainly be glad when Mother Nature decides on the weather one way or the other!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Hi Everyone!

The weather outside is VERY FRIGHTFUL! It is so cold out there that I have NO desire to go out and my grandson missed another day of school because of extreme weather!

This was our temperature Thursday morning 

and then it warmed up a couple of degrees

on Friday so they had to go back to school! 

I will be over joyed when SPRING finally makes it's appearance!

Only 28 more days to go...

This week I got in quite a few stitches!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

I know that it is not Sunday anymore and I am a day late - but I promise I have a good excuse!!

Last week I didn't get in lots of stitching because at first I was nervous about an appointment I had scheduled for Friday and I couldn't concentrate. Then Friday came and after my appointment I was so happy, excited and then exhausted that I couldn't stitch again!

What could be so exciting you ask??? 

What could the news possibly be??

In August I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Thankfully it was in the early stages and it was a 1A! They went in and removed all the cancer they could see and then informed me that I would need chemo. If anyone ever tells you chemo is easy let me tell you the truth...IT IS ROUGH! It took every ounce of energy out of me and left me totally drained for what seemed like forever but I think it was worth every minute of it. On Friday I had an appointment at the oncologist and they said 

I AM CANCER FREE!!

This was the best news I have heard is a very long time and I am thankful to everyone who helped me get thru these rough six months; especially my daughter Tia and my son Matt. They went above and beyond in my care and I am so grateful for them. My grandson was an enormous help too doing what he could and just being there to talk to me or keep me company.

So now that I have finally settled down from that spectacular news I finally got in some stitching.

Making it in right under the wire for Sunday!  Not much stitching this week but I did continue to work on my

I received a beautiful gift this week from a friend. The picture does not do the gift justice; it is stunning and made with the perfect shade of purple beads. 

I stitched this square for a quilt she was making for her granddaughter who was having surgery. Thank you again Christine; to you and your granddaughter!!
