My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/22/24

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all ready for the holidays. If not, you don't have very much time to get ready! I was finishing my ornaments this week but ran into a few problems so I can't show them yet. I will explain the problems next week when I have them ready; I just don't know what I was thinking.

I have decided to drop two of the groups I am in, the one with the prompts in and another similar group for 2025. I will finish out the year then that is it. I think I will only do the two groups with the acrostics instead. The groups I am leaving seem to be taking up a lot of my time because I feel I have to get all the prompts or other activities complete and lately it is making me not want to stitch or do anything else. There are more things than just that swaying my decision but they are not that important to anyone but me. So anyways ~ let's get down to the important business!

I did get in some stitching this week so let me show you what I managed to accomplish!

Contra
I added 103 stitches

100 stitches added to this one

Stitched an additional 103 stitches

Put in an additional 201 stitches

And that was it for the week!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that everyone
has a blessed Christmas and that Santa brings you the gift of your dreams.

Love to all

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/03/24

Well Hello Everyone!  Another Sunday, Another Update. I hope that everyone is doing fine. I am doing pretty good. Nothing much happening here. The weather is still bouncing all around but hopefully it will decide that we are in Autumn and adjust accordingly! The good news is that we have R A I N today!

How was your Halloween night? Lots of Trick or Treaters?  This year  had quite a few Witches, Marios, Spidermen, Ninja Turtles and other characters including one Michael Jackson! It was nice to see so many kiddos out and about but we did have warmer weather (low 80s) so it is easier for them to come out and walk around. Oh yeah, sorry to all of you that lost an hour sleep because of DST. I thought they were going to pick one time zone and stick to it!

This week I have been doing some stitching using the prompts in the "Fandom Stitching Central" group on Facebook while working on the acrostics, from Facebook groups "Magazine Monthly Cross Stitch Challenge!" and the "Fun with Cross Stitch" groups. I mainly follow the Fandom prompts and I fill in the acrostics from the pieces I use for Fandom.

So now let's see what the Fandom prompts were for this past week!

Last Sunday was just a day with no prompts but I needed this for an acrostic so I stitched a little on it.

Lucky Shamrocks
Daily Cross Stitch

On 10/27 I added 100 stitches.

On Monday they wanted me to "Stitch on a project that I absolutely love and explain why." So that would be this one with a million flowers. I just love flowers and this one has MANY to look at in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors. It is going to take forever but I have patience; most of the time.

The Flower A Day
Designer - Carolyn Manning

Put in 117 stitches on 10/28/24

Tuesday was a fun prompt! "Stitch with blue thread or on blue fabric." Well lucky for me; I have one piece that fits both prompts! So I pulled it out and did a few stitches on it!

Quilt Block Sampler
Artist - Loretta Oliver
Stitched 169 Xs on 10/29/24

Tuesday night I had a super bad sleeping night so I pulled out this piece since there are no color changes and I stitched in bed while watching some home flipping show. I finally got tired and ready to sleep at around 3:30am so I put it away. I really don't like insomnia but it seems to go with being older.

Home is Where the Dog Is
On 10/30 there was 117 stitches were added.

Then on  Wednesday and Thursday both prompts seemed Halloweenie to me so I worked on one piece for both evenings. Wednesday they thought I should "Stitch on a project with a ghost." You can't see the ghost right now but it is there in spirit! LOL Then on  Monday I needed to "Stitch on a project that means Halloween to you." So this one reminds me of Halloween since it has ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and candy on it. Who wouldn't want to stitch it? LOL

Sweet and Spooky
Fat Quarter Shop

Added 113 on 10/30 and another 206 on 10/31/24.

Friday was "Stitch on a project with water, if it is not visible in your stitching." Well I can't find my Vase of Flowers! I have searched and searched to no avail. I decide to work on my Christmas ornaments instead because I REALLY need to get them done!!

Small Christmas Ornaments

On 11/01/24 I added 246 stitches.

And then on to this one... "Stitch on a project you wish would just disappear". When I say I wish it would disappear I really do! So many color changes in one section  that it seems to take forever and ever. One day I hope to finally get thru this piece and my grandson really hopes so too. That is one good thing about these prompts, they give me a chance to get through a lot of different pieces for at least a few stitches.

Dinosaurs
Artist - Stephen Michael Gardner
On 11/02/24 I only added 44 Stitches but I will continue it today!

So that is just over 1,100 stitches for a successful week.

~~~~~     ~~~~~     ~~~~~     ~~~~~     ~~~~~
Thanks a bunch for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my stitching at
least half as much as I enjoyed blogging about it!
Now to go work a little on those stinking dinosaurs again.
My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/16/24
Hello Everyone!  I want to start off by saying Happy Father's Day to all it applies to; men and women!
We are still having a crazy heatwave! We will be in the 100s and monsoon is supposed to start this week. So we will have rain with hot air! Unfortunately for us, the rain does not usually last very long. Also it is kinda spotty; it may rain at my house but not across the street so you have to be in a good place to get wet! LOL
This week I stitched a little on a few different pieces. I started off with
The Flower a Day
CM Designs
Progress 06/09/24
249 stitches
I really love this one but it is slow going! So many pretty flowers and colors.
After that I spun the wheel and got the other flower piece!
Flowers of the Month
June, Wild Rose
Progress 06/12/24
280 stitches
Well I FINALLY finished the June flower! I am so happy it is done!!
Now to finish the other eight and that will take a while, I am sure!!
Next up is the temperature piece that I am sure will NOT be finished in 2024!
Temperature Library
Designer - Kristi DiClemente
Progress 06/14/24
Added 229 stitches
I thought on this one I would make the bookshelf first and then start adding the books but evidently bookshelves are harder to make than I thought they would be!! This is the outline for the top seven shelves.
And that is the stitches for the week, 758 stitches!
I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to see my stitching.
Hope to see ya next week with another faithful update!
My Sunday Stitchy Update 04/13/24
Another week, done and gone!
Nothing exciting happening around here. Our weather is going up and down but looks like it will be moving steadily on it's way up soon! Other than that all I have been doing is reading and stitching and since you are here about the stitching let me show it to you.
I have never stitched a card before so I decided to try and figure one out on my own, The problem with trying to figure out the stitch area is every time I measured the area on the card I was getting different measurements; of course! So I finally figured it out and got a card started.
week because I need it finished by the end of the month.
Well that is it for the week! I don't know what I'll be bringing out next week because I still have a few more acrostics to stitch.
I hope you have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you left.
Thanks for stopping by to see my progress; I appreciate it.
My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/10/24
Hi Everybody! I hope that everyone is doing well. I almost forgot to post today but here I am just in time!
This has been one of those crazy weeks that started off with my car getting a flat tire! So we ordered some new tires for her. They say they take a week to arrive so they schedule an appointment for putting them on a week after you order them. So it was a long week of driving on a spare and worrying every minute that something will go wrong. Fortunately, I had safe travels and she has new shoes on all the way around.
Now on to the stitching!
This week I started off with the I Stitch Sampler. I ended up having to do the S twice because I miscounted when stitching it.
I Stitch Sampler
Rhona Norrie
Progress 03/06/24
316 stitches
Next up I started my Lucky Shamrocks. I decided to do the outlines so I can take it to our stitching group and I can just stitch while we talk and talk and then talk some more! This will NOT be finished by St.Patricks Day!
Lucky Shamrocks
Progress 03/09/24
576 stitches
Finally today (Sunday) I worked on The Flower A Day piece. I really like this piece and I hope I can squeeze it in next month too.
The Flower A Day
Designer - Carolyn Manning
Progress 03/10/24
152 Stitches
And that was my week!  Full of adventures and 1,044 stitches.
How was your week? Anything exciting going on?
So I am signing off now but I really
hope to see you again next Sunday!
In the meantime I am trying to catch up with blogs, Instagram and email.
Have a great week!
My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/25/24
Hello there!! I am glad that you could join me again today. I really do appreciate the people who stop by every now and then to see what I have been up to.
Last week I worked on quite a few different pieces and I would like to share them with you now.
I started off the week with the Blackwork SAL. I love stitching Blackwork because it looks kind of delicate to me.
Peppermint Purple 2024 Blackwork SAL
Peppermint Purple
Designer - Clare Ardali
Progress 02/22/24
275 Stitches
For the blackwork stitches two stitches counts as 1 stitch.
Right now I am working on the border and I will do the fills once that is finished.
Then I moved over to do a Quilt Block
Quilt Block Sampler
Stitching the Night Away
Designer - Loretta Oliver
Progress 02/23/24
310 Stitches
Next I needed something a little more cheerful, Flowers!
The Flower A Day
Designer - Carolyn Manning
CM Designs
Progress 02/24/24
200 Stitches
There was also the Home is Where the Dog is piece but all it is is a lot of boring block Xs doing the fill on the dog house so I will post that one when it is a bit more exciting!
So that is pretty much it for the week.
I am settling on exactly what will be in the March stitch and one of them is super long!
I will show them all filled out next week!
In the mean time;
Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by.
