A Puzzling 08/30/18

I recently completed another puzzle! It is another Wasgij Puzzle where you have to figure out what the puzzle looks like based on the box top. I love this concept because it makes the puzzle making a little more challenging.

A Puzzling 06/28/18

Hello All!

I have another puzzle finish! This is another one of those puzzles that it is a little different than the box top. Some of the differences are hard to see while others are pretty obvious!

I looked forward to doing this one because when I lived in Chicago I used to work in the Smurfit-Stone Building (aka The Diamond Building) which is across the street from Cloud Gate (aka the Bean). All the other buildings surrounded us and I saw most of them on a daily basis.  I do miss Chicago but I definitely do NOT miss that white stuff falling from the sky all around the city or the temperatures it brings!

and this is how the puzzle looks!

Puzzling Wednesday 01/17/18

This week I completed one of my Wasgij Puzzles!

These are so fun because the picture on the box in not the solution. This is in the Destiny Series and the description on the box is

"Rock n Roll used to be the cool craze – Guys with slicked back hair and leather jackets whilst the girls back-combed and sprayed to get their hair as big and beautiful as they could. But how will the change in trends effect these rock n rollers?"

This week I am working on another mystery puzzle!

Here is the description of the puzzle:

But the careless Golf who is prematurely celebrating with a cigar has carelessly dropped his match over the loaded cannon and BANG! Imagine you are the horrified lady and try to imagination the course of the cannon ball and what disaster it’s caused – that is what you are puzzling."

Puzzling Wednesday 09/20/17

This week I started and finished another Clue Mystery Puzzle.  It is my second one and as this one was a bit more enjoyable than the first!

In this one Mr. Black (who I never heard of in the game Clue) loaned out money to each of the other six people and it was the day for payback! They all gathered at his home to see a special rare rainbow. Before the rainbow though they were having drinks and playing croquet on the lawn and Mr. Black excuses himself to record his observations about the rainbow.

and this is the solution which reveals the murderer

Piece Count - 500
Size 14 x 20

First Piece - 09/14/17
Last Piece - 09/17/17

Well there you go...almost clear as mud right! Ha ha I thought it might be Professor Plum because of all the purple things on the desk and he is the murderer but they solved it by looking at the croquet balls on the desk. The red ball and the blue ball mixed together make purple which is how they arrived at Professor Plum.

It was quick to put together and now on to another!

Back to…?

Well friends, I have another puzzle finish!

This is one of those puzzles where the solution is not what you see on the boxtop. Instead you have to use your imagination to solve it!

The boxtop is a picture of what a family looks like today.

and the solution is when we lived in simpler times!

Clue?

I finished a puzzle called Clue, A Mystery Puzzle.

Well let me tell you, it was the worst clue I ever heard of. It comes with a short story in a booklet which gives the background of the people in the game. Of course the box does not show a picture of the solution so I got to work on the puzzle.

Clue
A Mystery Puzzle
A Ghostly Murder

This is the box top

This is the puzzle solution
First Piece - 02/28/17
Last Piece - 03/03/17
Piece Count - 500
minus one missing piece!

Now I don't know about you BUT I expected to see who the murderer was at this point. I looked in the booklet again but I still couldn't figure it out.  Very frustrating!

So now I read the "secret" message with the special magnifying glass so I could see what the answer was.  They said the wedding ring on the feather duster was the biggest clue and was planted there to throw the other suspects off. Well I looked at the puzzle and looked and couldn't see the ring, let along the feather duster!  LOL  I finally found it and circled it below.
Do you see the ring?
It is extremely hard to see even looking at the puzzle.

The killer ended up being Professor Plum because he was late to the meeting and therefore did not know that Ms. White and Mr. Black were never married or romantically involved.

Talk about a lame story and lame clues. Ha Ha

I am soooo glad this puzzle is finished and now I can put it (even with it's missing piece) back in the box and put it in the go back to the store pile.

I worked on another one of the puzzles that has a different solution than the picture on the box. These are pretty fun because you have to figure out the what the puzzle is supposed to look like! Makes it a bit of a challenge!

High Street Hassle

I have another puzzle finish to share!

I just completed another one of the puzzles from Wasgij.

Destiny Collection #10
This is what the picture on the box looks like
 and the puzzle description is:

"Look at this 1860’s period image. The street is filled with chaos and panic
as the crowd struggle for their different desires. The market square is
overflowing with horses, carts, angry
salesmen trying hassle the
crowd and ladies looking to barter a bargain as children run wild.
But how different would the High Street look today?"

and here is the solution
First Piece - 01/13/17
Last Piece - 01/25/17
Piece Count -1,000
Size 19 x 25

Now the hard part, deciding on which puzzle to do next...

The Bake Off!

Matt (my son) and I have been working on a new puzzle with a little help from Jacob.

It is a type of puzzle that I have never seen before and I was a little worried when we first opened the box that we wouldn't be able to finish it!

The website for these puzzles says:
"Wasgij is the addictively unique jigsaw puzzle brand where you need to use your imagination to piece together the Wasgij 'solution'."

But we did it and it was fun and interesting to see what it would look like because the picture that you see on the box is not the picture that you will puzzle!!

The description for this puzzle says:
At the County Fair, the baking competition is hotting up! The judges have high expectations, but what sweet surprises will be offered by the ‘lucky’ contestants who have prepared their signature, family-tested dishes? Try to imagine you are the judge with the stripey top and bow’s and piece together what she can see.

and this is the solution!
First Piece - 05/23/16
Last Piece - 06/14/16

I am looking forward to completing more of these puzzles,
two challenges in one puzzle ;)

Thanks for taking a peek,
See ya next time!
