My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/02/25

Welcome Back Everyone! I hope you had a great week and you were able to get in some stitching time. I had a pretty good week. One of the best parts of the week is being able to go to the Mall and stitch with my friends. I think I actually get less stitches in my piece because we are so busy talking and looking at everyone's work and wishes! But that is ok, I enjoy spending time with the other ladies.

So this week I worked on a couple of big projects that you can actually see the progress on. That encourages me to keep going! Sometimes you can't really see where you stitched but you know you did! So let me show you what I did! 

First up I stitched a little on The Enchanted Christmas Snowman. I can't believe I am still on page one of this chart though it does look like I am a little more than half way. If you look you can actually see the stitches I put in. Everything is so blue that it was nice to finally use a different color!

On 01/26 I added 115 stitches

After that I worked on these teeny tiny squares. It is kind of hard to put the fill in these tiny boxes and I often have to take out what I stitched and do it again and again!

I added 252 stitches on 01/27.

Then it was Tuesday... that is the evening we stitch at the Mall. I gathered up my stuff, grabbed a Diet Pepsi and off I went. When I got to the mall I took my stuff out and I noticed I grabbed the wrong box of floss; darn it! Luckily the box I did have had black and white in it so I was still able to stitch the border!

On 1/28 I added 107 black or white stitches.

Then on Wednesday I looked through the WIP Box and saw this one so I took it out and looked it over and thought that I could at least finish this one block! It took me four evenings to do it, but it is finished!! Now I am down to one more block.

Yesterday, 02/01 I finished adding in 489 Xs.

Now I will have to look and see what I will do this week. I am still doing the stitching acrostics so I will look over the list I wrote down and see what I feel like stitching. And luckily I can use the same piece on more than one acrostic if it fits! YaY 

Also, Tuesday is World Cancer Day. I would like to send prayers and good wishes to everyone who has or had cancer or been touched by cancer in one way or another. Cancer is not only tough on the person that has cancer but the people surrounding and supporting them. I am proud to say that this week I will celebrate being a ten year survivor of ovarian cancer.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/29/24

Hello Everyone! First off I want to say I have been praying that all the people on the East coast are safe and sound after Helene came through their area. Some of the damage that I saw of North Carolina  was horrifying and I hope that everyone will get the help they need soon. 

So on a lighter note ~ what is everyone up too? I hope it involves some kind of crafting while you were enjoying the last few days of Summer. It is now Fall here but we are still breaking record highs. I wish that Mother Nature could get back on the right weather track but that is another story for another time and place. 

I have been doing some stitching; some good and some not so good. I don't understand what is going on with me but I hope that I am able to get back on the correct path too.

So here comes the stitches!! 

I started off the week with a FINISH of one of my smaller stitches. I would like to put a saying on this piece so if you have a good idea let me know

After that one of the prompts I had was to stitch something YELLOW. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to stitched one of the lines in the Twisted Rainbow!

2024 Blackwork SAL

I was getting ready to stitch on this piece but when I was looking at it something seemed a little off on the right side of the design. Soooo I counted and counted and counted one more time only to discover that the box the arrow is pointing too is one stitch short for the height! I think I was getting a little anxious because that was the marker that I used for stitching every other thing on the lower half of the design. So I said now what!? The answer came from that little place in my sane brain and it said you obviously have to frog the entire thing and start over. I had to take out 798 single stitches which counts as 399 blackwork stitches. It took me TWO days but it is all out and ready for some more stitching but NOT TODAY! If it is lucky, then maybe one day this week it will get some attention.

Now it is time for me to go stitch on something and hopefully concentrate and be mistake free!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/14/24

Welcome to my world! Nothing to exciting has been happening here except heat, rain and repeat! Now as everyone knows; I love the heat but this summer it seems to be pretty brutal since it doesn't seem to be letting up. I know I shouldn't complain though because it will be over with sooner than we know and then I will be wishing for it!  

This week I managed to get in quite a few stitches!

Now during this upcoming week I will be checking over my projects in order to make sure I am ready to #StitchTheSummerOlympics Katie over at Jeremiah's Mom found a fun little challenge to do whether you watch the Olympics or not. I guess it is not really a challenge but more of a guide to follow because you don't have to stitch everyday and nothing is required of you but to have fun! It is a way for stitchers to connect, have fun and share their love of stitching with one another. My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/19/24

Good Afternoon Friends! 

I hope that you are doing well today and that you had an awesome crafty week. Our weather has been on the warm side. We have been in the 90s with yesterday having the high temperature of 98℉ and it is still only spring!  I think that the news said this is the earliest we have been this hot. Can't wait to see what the summer brings. I did read somewhere that everywhere in the U.S. will be above average. I guess it will be time for many to hibernate.

Now on to the stitching! This week I had a pretty good one and got quite a bit finished.  Though there was one giving me a big headache! LOL 

First up was a holdover from last week, the Winter SAL.  I am usually way behind on SALs because I do them at my own pace rather that someone else's. Also I normally collect all the parts before I even start because once I was stitching one of those mystery SALs with a group and when we got about halfway I decided I hated the design. All that time invested in it, wasted! I think I cut off the unused part of the fabric and threw the rest away!

Then I worked on The Enchanted Christmas Snowman for a few days. When I was first gifted this chart I was so excited! I started it and did quite a bit but then had to move on to other things with the promise of coming back to it someday! Well it is NOW someday but it is giving me lots of headaches. The section I am working on now are nothing but confetti stitches! Nooooo!! I work one or two stitches in each section and then I have to switch to a new floss color. It is so time consuming. It actually took me two days to stitch 87 stitches. I can't wait to get to a big block of color!

I then worked on my very simple Home is Where the Dog Is piece. On this one there are NO color changes so I just get to keep on stitching and stitching! But oh so much solid black which makes it pretty boring which is why I take it to my Stitching Group to work on because there are lots of distractions there!!

Then I worked on a piece that I am doing on plastic canvas, Vase of Flowers. It goes pretty fast when working on plastic canvas and since this will be a bookmark I felt that plastic was the way to go for durability.

Today I finished planning out the May Acrostic Challenges. I am trying to finish some of the pieces from the previous months before I add any more new pieces. I have at least 30 pieces already started which filled up my two totes! I know that is not a lot for some but for me it is to many "loose ends" so I need to get some FINISHED!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/18/24

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful week. It seems to me that 2024 is going by pretty quickly and so I need to catch up with it! 

This week I stitched on a few pieces for my challenge. The first one up was The Enchanted Snowman. This piece is one that goes way back! It was a gift from Deb; a friend of mine who no longer blogs in 2018. I promptly started it but who know what happened. It got pushed to the back of the box to rarely be seen again. The last time I worked on it was in February of 2022.

The next thing I worked on was the Fun Every Day calendar tags. This is another oldie but definitely a goodie! I was also so gung ho when I first bought them. They were my 'waiting in the car project' for a while when I was picking up Jacob from school but now I don't really wait in the car! So I thought I should take them to my stitching group and do them there!! So... I was happily stitching away when I discovered a mistake on the one I was stitching! So I started looking at the rest of them because instead of following the chart each time I followed the one I stitched before it. It was only one line on each but wouldn't you know it; they were all wrong. I had to pick them all apart and do them over again. On perforated paper it isn't that much fun!

And the last one for the week is Valentine! I don't know why but then I look at one like this I always think 'No problem, this one will be quick!' but it never fails; it takes forever!
