Puzzling January 2020

and uhhh... February. Looks like my January post never made it to the blog so here are both months.

~~~~~~~~
January 31. 2020
It is puzzle time!! First puzzle of the year is by one of my very favorite artists, Amy Stewart!
An extra bonus is that it is about books because I love to read and my favorite genres are mystery, thrillers and even the occasional true crime book. I love James Patterson, Stephen King, Lisa Scottoline, John Grisham and the list could go on and on and on!  Do you read? If so what kind of books or authors top your list?
Puzzling December 2019
Seems like with all the hustle and bustle of this time of year it is hard to squeeze everything in so I am getting in fewer and fewer puzzles now. Hopefully I will start getting in more again after the new year. I only have a small bookcase full of puzzles to be assembled!
I did manage to get some in though and here is the first one.
Colorful Caps
Piece Count - 1,000
Size 24 x 30
Preowned Puzzle
First Piece 11/25/19
Last Piece 12/09/19
It is missing a piece and with the brown color it is super noticeable.
And another; again with a missing piece though far less noticeable!
Drama at the Opera!
This is what the puzzle boxtop looks like:
and here is the puzzle solution.
Piece Count - 1,000
Size 27 x 20
And last but not least for 2019 is this one; again missing a piece (seems like I am on a roll with those missing pieces lately).
Lewis T. Johnson
White Mountain Puzzles
Piece Count - 1,000
Size 24 x 30
That is 33 puzzles for a total of 34,000 pieces for the year!
That is one puzzle and 276 pieces short from last year.
Have a safe and happy New Years Eve!
Thanks for following my puzzling journey this year!
Hopefully 2020 brings many more pieces.
Wednesday Pieces 07/03/19
A couple more puzzles added to the finished pile!
This first one was pretty easy and fun to put together.
Color My Heart
Piece Count - 1,000
Size 27 x 20
First Piece 06/12/19
Last Piece 06/16/19
This one proved MUCH more difficult. I thought I would start with the streets, how hard could they be? ha ha Wrong question, they could not be put together without the green areas or building. The printing on the building was soooo tiny I couldn't even read that either. Finally it all came together though and I love it.  Being from Chicago I have seen this campus many times.
Size 19 x 27
New Puzzle
A Puzzling 10/03/18
I finished a really fun puzzle a couple of days ago!
I love Colin Thompson's puzzles. He is a bit quirky and he has an interesting point of view! I love how he uses lots of  colors too.
I have another puzzle on the table that I really needed a break from since it is very frustrating! LOL This is a picture of the puzzle so you can see why it is frustrating! I will be working on it in between my puzzle events and hopefully making some progress.
As you can see I have some of the puzzle completed but now I am STUCK and it is slow going! I am working on the hand holding the reflecting ball but there are like only 4 colors left and that is the majority of the puzzle and it is crazy!
Maybe you will see a finish one day down the line...
A Very Puzzling 08/07/18
This puzzle had a very "interesting" image.
It has crazy and twisted staircases, books with arms and legs and some kind of monsters. It was a fun puzzle to do and a quick one to finish.
Puzzling Wednesday 04/04/18
FINALLY!!
This puzzle is FINISHED!  I was frustrated with it many times but thankfully I did not totally give up on it and I finished it. I thought the end was never going to get here LOL
North American Skyline
Artist - Maria Rabinky
Piece Count - 3,000
Size 48 x 32
Used Puzzle
First Piece 01/29/18
Last Piece 04/01/18
Sadly this puzzle was missing one stinkin' piece! I am going to leave it on the table for a bit and assembly another on top of it and I will take it down at a later date. I just hate to put it away so quickly since I am kinda used to seeing it on the table!
By the way... if you recognize any of the buildings please leave a comment and let me know which one it is and what it is called.  I recognize some but I definitely do not know most of them! Of course my favorite is the Sears Tower (now the Willis) in Chicago!
Thanks for stopping by,
see ya next time;
hopefully it won't be so long between puzzles again!
Puzzling Wednesday 02/14/18
Well I have been busy, Busy, BUSY working on this puzzle!
I have most of the buildings put together though I still need to work on their reflections before I work on the sky! I noticed I missed getting the border in the picture but it is there...somewhere! LOL
Puzzling Wednesday 02/09/18
Well it has been a crazy puzzling ten or eleven days!
After I got the border together for this one I just sat looking at the box of pieces like, NOW WHAT! LOL  There are soooo many pieces and I felt like I just had no idea where to start. It took me at least 2 days to just sort the pieces but once I finally did that I couldn't decide which color pile to start with!
First I decided to do the bridge because I thought that it would provide references points - ha ha, no reference points especially since I seem to be missing a section of it at the moment! So now I am trying to put the buildings together. Having both the building and their reflections is a bit of a challenge but I am totally enjoying it!
This is my current progress picture.
Puzzling Wednesday 01/31/18
Just a quick puzzle update!
I started this puzzle thinking I would be able to get it finished before January 29th but it was not to be! This puzzle proved to be more difficult than I expected.
Afternoon in Tuscany
Gallery Series
Mega Puzzles
This is the box top
and this is as far as I got.
Piece Count - 1,000
Used Puzzle
First Piece 01/21/18
This puzzle is pretty cool because the pieces are wooden! I have never seen one like this before except for little kid puzzles.
I have put this puzzle away in it's roll up mat to start another.
Monday January 29th was National Puzzle Day! I belong to a few puzzle groups on Facebook and they were talking about "The 2018 Global Jigsaw Jubilee" so of course I wondered what is this? I looked into it and found that is is a group of Puzzlers that enjoy putting together puzzles.  I requested membership and they accepted me... whohoo. It is not really a competition but just a fun time where we put together puzzles of 1,200 pieces of more for three months and post progress pictures. We can win puzzles but it is mainly for fun so I needed to be ready for the start of the Jubilee so I ended up putting away this puzzle.
Anyways... I had already decided to start my first ever 3,000 piece puzzle with another friend and fellow stitcher, Deb H as a Puzzle-A-Long on January 1st and she agreed to push back the date for me.
This is the picture of the boxtop.
North American Skyline
Artist - Maria Rabinky
 Piece Count - 3,000
Size 48 x 32
Used Puzzle
First Piece 01/29/18
Once I actually opened the box I has second thoughts but then I figured it is just a puzzle with tons of pieces so I can do it...it will just take LONGER! ha ha
I got the border all put together and it is massive! The puzzle size is 48 x 32 and it is taking up my ENTIRE workspace! Here it is and now I will start on the "insides" this evening as soon as I finish sorting it which I am almost finished with.  I will be posting pictures of my progress along the way.
WISH ME LUCK, I think I will need it! LOL
Thanks for stopping by,
see ya next time!
middle and worked my way out to the border.
