My Sunday Stitchy Update

Hello everyone!

I hope that each of you had a beautiful Christmas surrounded by those you love. We had a nice quiet day at home which stretched out to a long weekend. Lots of Christmas movies, game playing, watching Jacob play with his electronics, laying around and eating! I love those kinds of weekends and look forward to another one coming up this weekend.

I did get in some stitching and made some noticeable progress!  YAY

I have finished filling in the Scarecrow - yay - and now to do the background and back stitch! Can I finish it by New Year's Eve??  I am not sure but I am going to give it all I got! I am so excited to be sooooo close.

My Sunday Stitchy Update

There simply are NOT enough hours anywhere for anything!  LOL

I promise myself "This week I will read every blog on my blog list" or "I will read blogs for an hour every night" but...well you probably know the rest of the story - THESE THINGS NEVER HAPPEN! I have such good intentions but instead I am falling farther and farther behind.  So this week I have been diligently signing up for "Follow By Email" on blogs if it is available and what a difference it is making!!  I can keep up with everyone's updates simply by reading my emails - yay!! I love it.  Hopefully I will do better now on keeping up with the stitchy updates for all of you! If you don't have this feature please consider it as it is the best thing ever.

Last week I worked on my Monthly SAL on the Palko Blog.

I am going to miss doing these little monthly designs; they were a fun and quick stitches.  She is having a new SAL for 2016 but I am not sure if I am going to participate or not because I have a LONG LIST of charts that I want to get to.

I suppose it will depend on the size of the monthly charts and if I have fabric handy, usually her chart sections just require a day or two of stitching.

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Welcome everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week as we start a new month.  I can hardly believe it is November already as time is just flying by! I think one of the reasons I have a hard time remembering that it is November already is our weather! It is still in the mid 70s here in Arizona and we are not minding it one little bit! Don't get me wrong, in the morning when everyone is leaving for the day you may need a light jacket or sweater but that doesn't last for long like it would be if we were still in Chicago!

So I got in a bit of stitching this week...

Good Evening Friends!

It is STILL cold here in Chicago! We even had about four inches of snow early in the week. I am MORE than ready to start demanding some heat around here!! They "say" we will be warming up this week but we shall see if the weather man can be believed or not!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Well...it is snowing here in the Chicago area!  It started yesterday in the early evening hours and it has been snowing ever since, that's over 24 hours so far!   This afternoon we were at 8 inches but it is still coming down and they predict it to go on until sometime Monday morning - yuck! Many schools and businesses in the area have already announced that they will be closed tomorrow. So it sounds like a pj day for this family!

Jacob and his mom went out to play in the snow and they built a snowman; and named him Sterling.

On the stitching front this week I worked on The Wizard of Oz and I think I did as much ripping out and as I did stitching! I just couldn't get the Tin Man to cooperate for some reason! Hopefully next time this comes up in rotation hopefully I will finish the second page!

Just a quick update today -

I have been working on the Wizard of Oz piece; I really wanted to get it finished by Christmas but didn't even come close but I have made some good progress.

First I finished the first page.

Looks like a bunch of blobs!

But once you back stitch a page - 

viola' what a difference it makes!

Now I have started the second page

and will probably finish out the year with this one!

My Sunday Stitchy Update...

Not much going on here except that it is VERY COLD and it may be going down as one of the top 10 coldest Novembers in Illinois history. Not my idea of a record I thought it would be fun to break but what do I know.

We had a beautiful Thanksgiving - it is nice when the whole family is home spending a great day together with some fantastic food and enjoying each other's company.

This week I have been stitching on The Wizard of Oz.  I really wanted it finished by Christmas, realistically I don't think that is going to happen but I am going to give it my best shot!!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

The weather has been TERRIBLE this week and we even had some snow flurries mixed with rain on Saturday. Never do I remember snow of any kind coming this early in the year and I am just hoping that this doesn't mean that we are going to have a long and bitter winter!

I went over to my LNS over the weekend and spent my gift certificate my son gave me for my birthday and got some black fabric to do the Northern Expressions Twisted pieces on. Two Amy Bruecken Halloween charts also managed to find their way into my bag :)

This week I didn't get a lot of stitching in but I did manage to squeeze in a few stitches on and around the scarecrow. Here is the how it looks now

Hi everyone... hope you are all having a great week. I am had a pretty good week - even my pain seems a bit better now that the doctors are mixing my medications with acupuncture so any week that I have less pain is a great week for me!

My Sunday Stitchy Update...

Not a lot of stitching done this week - as many of you in the US know this has been a CRAZY weather week from coast to coast. We had such bad storms that we were without electricity for 20 hours (according to my grandson it felt like 20 days!) and we were one of the first areas to get it back on.  Some of the surrounding communities are still out and tomorrow will be an entire week. I really feel bad for them but one thing to be grateful for is while many things got damaged I don't recall hearing of anyone's death as a result of the weather!

Then it was a holiday week for us too - Independence Day! I spent the day watching movies and then sitting in the backyard with the family. We played a bunch of board games outside and then ate dinner out there. It was a beautiful day and then we went back out in the evening and watched fireworks. All in all it was a very enjoyable day!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Good Evening All!

I hope you had a great week, looks like SPRING is finally making it's appearance here in Chicago and it is even trying to STAY - yay :)  This week we are expecting temperatures in the 60s. So now we are just waiting for color to appear by the way of trees, flowers and grass. 

We watched a couple of movies during the week; Jacob and I watched Gravity which we both enjoyed. Tia and I watched Saving Mr. Banks – loved it; showed some of the dealings with Disney and the Mary Poppins author P. L. Travers though I wish it would have showed more about her life.  There were some flash backs but they all went back to childhood and from what I understand she lead quite an interesting life as an adult.

I also used the Random Number Generator Monday
