My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/18/25

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful week.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous, it feels like summer already. I had another week of stitching this and that so let me show you what it amounted to!

First up was Faith Over Fear. It is kind of hard to see because of the light colors I am using on white fabric. I know, it's really not a good color combo but I didn't give it a thought when I picked the colors.

Added 120 stitches on the 12th

Then late afternoon on Tuesday I met a friend at the mall for some stitching and decided that I would take the I Stitch Sampler with me. I wanted to get some of those flowers in the bottom corner added.

Rhona Norrie

Put in 102 stitches on 05/13/25

Next up is one that can be a little difficult sometimes, One Hundred Days of Tiny. The squares are pretty tiny and sometimes the more intricate designs are hard to get it all in that square in a nice and neat way. I often complete the square, then take it out, then do it over again; sometimes more than once!

I ended up with 128 stitches after all that.

Then to wrap up the week of stitching I decided to work on a cheerful piece, The Flower A Day. I always think of this piece as a beautiful explosion of flowers and colors.

I added 115 stitches to this piece.

And that was all I stitched for the week. Not many stitches, only 500 but I am happy for those. It was a rough week but now we are moving in to a new week, so hopefully it will be a much better one.

Thank you everyone for stopping by to see what's going on here.

Have a wonderful week and
please stay well and safe and don't
forget to take some time for yourself!

So until next week
keep that needle moving!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/27/24

Hi Friends! How are you doing this week? I'm doing great! This past week we actually had two days in the 70s! It was kind of nice not running the AC and having the door open for a while; ah... fresh air! I have really missed that! LOL Unfortunately we jumped right back into the 90s. Mother Nature can be such a tease! I see we are supposed to cool off this week but I hope not to cool for the trick or treaters!

I hope you were able to get in some time for stitching. Any new starts or finishes? Last week I managed to get in some stitching, not much but all the Xs count! No finishes for me but I hope to get my ornaments finished soon so they will be ready for Christmas mailing. So lets see how I did at finding a piece to stitch for each prompt. Deciding what to stitch is the most challenging part and it is also the part I enjoy. Ready to see what the prompts were and you can decide if I was successful or not?

First prompt I stitched was "Stitch on something that reminds you of your mother, grandmother, or female that helped to raise you." This was an easy one! My Mom had a green thumb and we always had plants growing around the house both inside and out. I miss the plants and TRY to grow some but I even killed the cactus! Anyways I stitched this piece in Honor of my Mom whom I miss everyday.

Flowers of the Month
January, Carnation

Progress on 10/21/24 was 205 Stitches

The next prompt I had was not a good one for me! It was "Stitch on a piece that has rain, thunder, or lightning." I looked thru all my stitching and I got nothing! So I took the penalty and decided on the One Hundred Days of Tiny. The problem was that this was the evening I meet some other stitchers at the mall to stitch. There is some bad lighting there and I left my light at home! So I just made the squares without the fills to be on the safe side.

One Hundred Days of Tiny
The Steady Thread

Progress on 10/22/24 was adding 216 stitches.

The third prompt was to "Stitch on red fabric or with red thread."  Lucky me, I just happened to have something with red stitching on it. So I stitched the scarf which was red with a little yellow. What perfect timing I had on this one.

Winter 2024 SAL
Designer - Alyssa

I added 216 stitches on 10/23/24.

I decided that the next two prompts I was using could be stitched on the same piece; Nintendo. The first prompt was to "Stitch on something that is considered hostile." I never played Contra before but just by the look of it, I think it is pretty hostile game.

The second prompt I used for Nintendo "Stitch on something that is new to you, a new designer, a new kind of thread, a different color fabric, a different count of fabric etc." This is the FIRST time I decided to stitch something this big! I wondered what in the world I was thinking when I cut the fabric and each time I get it out to stitch on it.

Nintendo
Contra
Armada Designs
I added 100 and 138 on 10/24 and 10/25/24 respectfully.

And the last prompt for the week was "Stitch on something that pictures what you would think of as silence and explain your answer."  Honestly, after I stitched this piece I thought about the temperature library but didn't feel like doing another piece so I used the Shades of Gold that I had stitched already. I said that since there is not a lot happening in the design it is what I would consider silent. It is just a bunch of simple lines that create a stunning picture free of confusion.

I don't know if they will accept that explanation or not but I thought it was a good try!

Shades of Gold
Designer - Nicole Dostal
Northern Expressions Needlework
So I added 209 stitches to the piece on 10/26/24.

So I guess this is where my stitching prompts ended for the week. It was another fun week of stitching

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I stitched and why and now I need to go and find out what the prompts are for the upcoming week. But first, I need to stitch!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I appreciate you checking on my blog.
Have an awesome and safe week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/13/24

Oh brother... I went to start this week's post and found last week's sitting there as a draft! Oops...

Hello! I hope you had a great week with cooler temperatures but not to cold! Though there are only ten Fridays until Christmas! It is sneaking up on us pretty quickly so it is time to start the Christmas stitching and other projects.

Every week the weather person says that we will be down to double digits by the weekend and every week they build up our hopes only to disappoint us time and time again! We are still in the 100s and have broken our own record of the most days in the 100s in a year!

Each week we receive new prompts for stitching and while you you don't have to do each one I try to do them all while also filling in my acrostic puzzles. Changing project each day has kind of grown on me and keeps me busy. I enjoy touching each project and getting a chance to stitch on some that I haven't seen in  while!  Like this first one!

On Monday the first prompt I stitched on was "Stitch on a WIP that went missing for awhile (either from your storage spot or from your brain)".  Well I have a few projects that can fit into this category but I have been seeing quite a few people stitching this one lately. So here is mine which has not been stitched on since 2022!

Mason Jar Lineup
Designer - Barb Tourtillotte
Dimensions

Progress of 127 Stitches on 10/07/24

The next prompt I stitched on was "Stitch on a project that contains something fragile." I think that snowmen are pretty fragile! Have you ever seen one starting to melt when the temperatures start to rise? They just start losing things like their face and then their whole head! The first time Jacob saw this happening he was very upset.

Small Christmas Ornaments
Finished the Snowman with 140 stitches on 10/08/24

The next prompt was to "Stitch on a project with a creature or plant that is found in the sea." Guess what, I don't have anything like that! LOL Instead I worked on the following project. They call that a penalty stitch and you can only count half the stitches

Spooky & Sweet

Progress 10/09/24
added 256 stitches

My next prompt seemed super easy... "Stitch on a project that is decidedly NOT musical." Well that is probably everything in the WIP Box so I just picked something I felt like adding some stitches to. I am about a a fifth of the way through this one so I thought it would be nice to add a couple if squares to it.

One Hundred Days of Tiny

added 212 stitches on 10/10/24

For this next prompt I had to wrack my brain for a bit!! "Stitch on a project that displays a vehicle of sorts."  I had to go back through my old posts to see if I could find a car or something and I found one, thanks goodness. Mr. King's Christine is front and center on this piece!

Stephen King House
The Witchy Stitcher

on 10/11/24 I added 204 stitches

The next prompt was to "Stitch on a project that you had envied for awhile." When I first saw this one I just knew I HAD to have it along with it's companion piece; Twisted Band Sampler. But given all the charts I already have I couldn't justify it. But then my enablers aka my children, Matt & Tia bought them for me and kitted them up, problem solved! LOL

Twisted Rainbow Sampler
Northern Expressions Needlework

Progress 10/12/24 and add 100 stitches.

and this is the
Twisted Band Sampler
which I swear I will get to one of these days!

Well that is it for this week!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I was up to this week!
Now I need to go get ready for next week!!
YaY

Thanks for stopping by!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 09/15/24

Hello There! Did you miss me?  Sorry, I just couldn't motivate myself to do anything for the last couple of weeks. I did stitch but some days it took some real effort to do it and I would be glad to get at least a few stitches in. But I think that I am feeling a bit better now so...I'm back!

So let me show you what I have been doing this week.

So last Sunday I worked on The Flower A Day chart.

The Flower A Day

This time I added 106 stitches on 09/08/24.

Small Christmas Ornaments

On 09/09 I added 203 stitches on these two cuties, they only need
the backstitch on them now. and then there are two more to go.

Nintendo
Metroid
Armada Designs

Metroid was finally finished on 09/10 and is only took 147 additional stitches to
finish it. Next time I work on the Nintendo piece I will probably start on Castlevania.

Long May You Stitch
Lucy Beam from
Just making stripes is pretty boring so I am glad they made this chart like the flag
is actually waving. It broke up the lines a little so it wasn't as boring! 203 stitches
added on 09/11 though I probably should have stitched this on 09/12 to honor the day.

One Hundred Days of Tiny
Also added these 101 stitches on 09/11 to what looks like a balancing act.

I Stitch Sampler
Rhona Norrie

I feel like the more I stitch on this piece,
the longer it is taking even if I did add
121 stitches! Progress 09/12/24

Stephen King House
Now this is a chart I really can't wait to stitch up all the scenes in
the house! I will be so glad when I get all the room outlines
stitched up so that I can put everything into those rooms!
Added 207 stitched on 09/13/24

Sweet and Spooky

And now we are finally at 09/14/24!
I added 128 stitches to this one but it doesn't look like it will be ready for Halloween.

Well thanks for stopping by to see if I finally posted and then for reading this to the end.
Come back next week and we will do it all over again!
