My Sunday Stitchy Update 04/06/25

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a great day. Our weather is a beautiful 72° (22° C) so. I guess Spring is truly on it's way!  Hopefully it won't change it's mind!

This month in a group I am in we are playing S P R I N G O which of course, is a variation of BINGO. The board is interesting; here is my starting board:

The seven columns were assigned the letter is in SPRINGO and we had to fill in the numbers below the letter and pick a project that relates to that letter (project name, designer's name, item in the picture). When a number is called you see what column it is in and stitch 100 stitches to the project for that column and post the days progress in our album in the group. So far it is fun! Katie over at Jeremiah's Mom is also playing the game. She stitches tons in a day so I have lots of confidence in her finishing her board. Our goal is to get vertical bingos with 5 squares or horizontal bingo with 7 squares.

So let's see what numbers were called this week.

Up first was 30 which for me was under the letter O, which is for the designer Loretta Oliver. So I had to put in some stitches on my Quilt Block Sampler. I have not stitched on this one since February. I am on the last block so hopefully it will be finished SOON! Though I did see a section where I forgot to stitch around the blocks so I will have remember to go back and finish that too.

Stitched 100 stitches on April 1st!

The next two numbers that were called was 31 and 08 which both fell under the letter R which I used for the Rainbow in the Twisted Rainbow Sampler. I put this one on my board because I have a long way to go on it and I want to get moving on it!

Added 100 and 102 stitches respectfully on 04/02 and 04/03.

Then on the 4th they called the number 27! So now I get to move on to the Seasonal Quilt, Autumn with the letter S. I thought this piece would go faster but all the colors in one quilt square certainly does take its sweet old time!

And to wrap up the week the number it was time for the number 28. That is under the letter I which is for Ice for the Penguin Ice Slide. As my followers probably already know any and all penguins are for Jacob since that is his very favorite animal.

Added in 100 stitches.

And that is it for the week! I normally only stitch for an hour or so after dinner but I think I am going to try to squeeze in some stitches during the days after I do what ever I need to do around the house or else I will only be working on seven pieces for the entire month!

This week we lost a fellow stitcher and my friend Deb Reik. She was not a blogger but she was on Facebook. We have been friends since way back in the Yahoo Groups Days. She lived in the next state over but her daughter lived here so I would see her and her family quite often.
This is a picture of my long time friends.
Mary, Deb and Me.

Deb will be truly missed!

I am so thankful you were able to stop by for a quick minute or two to see what I have been doing. I hope you have a wonderful week coming up and you are able to get in lots of stitching. And remember to tell your friends and family that you love them.

Stay safe and keep stitching.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/18/24

Well Hello There! I hope you are doing great. I think I am doing good, well I can't complain anyways.

We have been having lots of rain which we always need but I am happy that it is considerate to wait until for the evenings to rain. Now if I could just get some sleep everything would be perfect! Oh well I guess you can't have everything!

It looks like I had lots of stitching time this week but it didn't seem that way on a few of the days, so let me catch you up with what I have been doing.

First up is The Flower A Day. I always love looking at this piece. It looks like a cascading flower bouquet with so many different flower designs and colors. I just wish I could stitch it FASTER!

The Flower A Day

Progress 08/11/24
Added 140 stitches

Next is a piece that I have kept in the WIP Box for a long while! It hasn't come out since MARCH! I couldn't believe it and had to double check and yeah, haven't stitched on it since March!

Shades of Gold
Designer - Nicole Dostal
Progress 08/12/24
Added 212 stitches

The next one is a another piece that hasn't received any love in quite a while, the last time I stitched on it was April! I couldn't believe it but it's true. So I pulled out my favorite colors and did a couple of hours of Xs on them.

Rabbit Silhouettes

Progress 08/13/24

After that I pulled out the I Stitch Sampler for a little stitching. They asked for something that is a guide in your life and I certainly think this is a guide for all stitchers!

Then it was stitching at the Mall day! That is a day when you can't stitch anything to complicated because there are so many things going on when we are together. Everybody has something to say or show and sometimes it is a bit of a distraction with lots of laughs and stories!  I figured how can hard can it be to make lines?? Turns out, not that hard!!

And now we finally made it to Saturday! I really need to get some more on these ornaments stitched or they will never be ready for Christmas. I started the Penguin also while I was still working on the Snowperson. I didn't get a lot done on either one of them but every little bit helps.

Small Christmas Ornaments
Progress 08/17/24
Squeezed in 126 stitches to end the week
which makes 952 total stitches for the week.

So that brings us to the end of the week!

I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my stitching for the week.
So I would like to say thanks so much for stopping by,
and I hope I see you next week with another faithful update!

Now I have to go so I can start working on some stitching for the next post!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/23/24

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope that you had a great week.  I had a pretty good week. Just hanging out at the house and getting in quite a bit of stitching.  It has been to hot to cook in the kitchen so I have been making a lot of crock pot meals which frees up a lot of my day and that is pretty nice! Do you guys like to cook in the crockpot? I think it maybe my favorite way to "cook" dinner!

This week I pulled out this piece again and continued stitching this blackwork with two threads.

One Hundred Days of Tiny

Progress 06/16/24
159 stitches added

So...as I was stitching it I kept looking at the the stitched parts and I think that they look very thick. I asked around and everyone says it looks fine the way it is and I agreed. Then I would stitch some more and start having the doubts about the stitches again. I decided that I will just start it over and see how I like it then.

Then I was in a little pop-up challenge in one of my groups to either stitch 500 stitches or 5 hours on a piece that you avoid. Well I am always dreading the Dinosaur piece with all of the confetti stitches it has. So silly me, that is the piece I decided on.

Dinosaurs
Artist - Stephen Michael Gardner
Progress 06/20/24
179 stitches added

Well I ended up stitching for the five hours and put in 179 stitches. I do consider that good with as much confetti as there is.  It seems like there was not more than five of the same color stitches in any one place. So now I think this one has to go on time out for the month of July!

Next I stitched some of the Vase of Flowers which is on plastic canvas. It will be a bookmark once it is finished.

added 240 stitches

Then yesterday I moved on to a cheery colorful one!

Twisted Rainbow Sampler
Progress 06/21/24
only 84 stitches added

That is 662 stitches for the week but I am happy with the amount given the Dinosaur piece.

Next week I have a few pieces to catch up on before the end of the month so I hope to be busy stitching this week to finish my acrostics for June. Then it is time to figure out the July plans!

Well I talked to much (again) so that is it for today!

Thanks again for stopping by and
checking out my stitches, I appreciate it!
I am off to add some more Xs to the Twisted Rainbow!

Have a great week and I hope you get in lots of Xs.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/16/24

Hello Everyone!  I want to start off by saying Happy Father's Day to all it applies to; men and women!

We are still having a crazy heatwave! We will be in the 100s and monsoon is supposed to start this week. So we will have rain with hot air! Unfortunately for us, the rain does not usually last very long. Also it is kinda spotty; it may rain at my house but not across the street so you have to be in a good place to get wet! LOL

This week I stitched a little on a few different pieces. I started off with

The Flower a Day
CM Designs

Progress 06/09/24
249 stitches

I really love this one but it is slow going! So many pretty flowers and colors.

After that I spun the wheel and got the other flower piece!

Flowers of the Month
June, Wild Rose
Progress 06/12/24
280 stitches

Well I FINALLY finished the June flower! I am so happy it is done!!
Now to finish the other eight and that will take a while, I am sure!!

Next up is the temperature piece that I am sure will NOT be finished in 2024!

Temperature Library
Designer - Kristi DiClemente
Progress 06/14/24
Added 229 stitches

I thought on this one I would make the bookshelf first and then start adding the books but evidently bookshelves are harder to make than I thought they would be!! This is the outline for the top seven shelves.

And that is the stitches for the week, 758 stitches!

I appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to see my stitching.
Hope to see ya next week with another faithful update!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 06/02/24

Afternoon Stitchers!  I hope you had a wonderful week.

This week I only worked on a couple of pieces but on one of them I finished all the stitching!

I started working on the Happy Birthday Card to reach my acrostic goal but when I got to the number I needed I decided to keep stitching and the next thing I knew... I finished all the stitches!

Happy Birthday Card
Astor Place
'Greeting Cards for All Seasons'

Finished 05/27/24
360 stitches finished this one off

Now I need to finish it off as a birthday card to be mailed in August to a friend of mine in Illinois.

After I finished that up I was also finished with all my acrostics for the month of May. So with nothing in particular to stitch I decided to add some stitches to the Winter 2024 SAL.

Winter 2024 SAL
Designer - Alyssa
Progress 05/31/24
added 630 stitches this week

The more I use this color fabric the more I love it! I am usually a white fabric kinda stitcher because I am not that good at deciding what colors to use but this color was listed as the preferred color so I took a chance and am I glad I did. I may just have to add a few pieces of this color to my stash.

I have also been cleaning off my hard drive of old files and organizing other files to make better sense and so I probably won't be able to find them again when I need them!  When I wasn't 'organizing' I still managed to stitch everyday! 😊

I also figured out my goals for June and here they are:

I think these are more than manageable and I am almost finished with one already.

So that is all I have for you this week so I guess I am off to stitch until dinner. Today is breakfast for dinner; waffles and sausage links. Do you guys ever have breakfast for dinner? How about leftover dinner for breakfast? Maybe pizza or the side dish you had last night?

Thanks a bunch for stopping by to visit me.
Stay happy and safe.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 04/07/24

Welcome All! I am glad you could drop by today.

We are having some great weather here and even had a couple of days of rain. I love when they rain comes down slow and steady. We even had a day that was in the 80s so that means summer is coming!

It is April so I have two brand new Acrostic Puzzles to get me through the month!

I have selected a dozen different projects to work on throughout the month. I started the month by working on three different projects.

I got in two more days on Winter SAL.

Winter SAL
Designer - Alyssa

Progress 04/03/24
Added 256 more stitches

Next I continued to work on the bookshelf for the Temperature Library.

Temperature Library
Designer - Kristi DiClemente

Progress 04/06/24
Added 395 stitches

And then I worked on my bunnies.  I think I am going to make this one my Group Stitch at the mall this month. Since I have them outlined it is easy to just fill them in while our group of stitchers chit chat the time away with each other.

Rabbit Silhouettes
Daily Cross Stitch

Progress 04/05/24
251 stitches were added!

Technically I am finished with the the Winter SAL and the Temperature Library for my April acrostic but I am hoping to ger back to them before the end of the month.

I hope that you had a great and productive week yourself
and that this new week brings lots of Xs to your needle!

Well thanks a bunch for stopping by to check out my stitching!
Enjoy your week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/10/24

Hi Everybody! I hope that everyone is doing well. I almost forgot to post today but here I am just in time!

This has been one of those crazy weeks that started off with my car getting a flat tire! So we ordered some new tires for her. They say they take a week to arrive so they schedule an appointment for putting them on a week after you order them. So it was a long week of driving on a spare and worrying every minute that something will go wrong. Fortunately, I had safe travels and she has new shoes on all the way around.

Now on to the stitching!

This week I started off with the I Stitch Sampler. I ended up having to do the S twice because I miscounted when stitching it.

I Stitch Sampler
Rhona Norrie

Progress 03/06/24
316 stitches

Next up I started my Lucky Shamrocks. I decided to do the outlines so I can take it to our stitching group and I can just stitch while we talk and talk and then talk some more! This will NOT be finished by St.Patricks Day!

Finally today (Sunday) I worked on The Flower A Day piece. I really like this piece and I hope I can squeeze it in next month too.

And that was my week!  Full of adventures and 1,044 stitches.

How was your week? Anything exciting going on?

So I am signing off now but I really
hope to see you again next Sunday!

In the meantime I am trying to catch up with blogs, Instagram and email.

Have a great week!
