My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/18/24

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful week. It seems to me that 2024 is going by pretty quickly and so I need to catch up with it!

This week I stitched on a few pieces for my challenge. The first one up was The Enchanted Snowman. This piece is one that goes way back! It was a gift from Deb; a friend of mine who no longer blogs in 2018. I promptly started it but who know what happened. It got pushed to the back of the box to rarely be seen again. The last time I worked on it was in February of 2022.

The Enchanted Christmas Snowman

Progress 02/12/24
244 stitches for the 200 required.

The next thing I worked on was the Fun Every Day calendar tags. This is another oldie but definitely a goodie! I was also so gung ho when I first bought them. They were my 'waiting in the car project' for a while when I was picking up Jacob from school but now I don't really wait in the car! So I thought I should take them to my stitching group and do them there!! So... I was happily stitching away when I discovered a mistake on the one I was stitching! So I started looking at the rest of them because instead of following the chart each time I followed the one I stitched before it. It was only one line on each but wouldn't you know it; they were all wrong. I had to pick them all apart and do them over again. On perforated paper it isn't that much fun!

The left is some of the wrong ones and the one on the right is on it's way to be corrected!
I managed to get 214 stitches in correct this week

And the last one for the week is Valentine! I don't know why but then I look at one like this I always think 'No problem, this one will be quick!' but it never fails; it takes forever!

Finished 02/17/24
561 stitches this week for a total of 1,038 for the finish.

And that is my stitching for the week!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to.

Now I need to finish filling in my acrostic for March and see what I should stitch today!

Have an awesome week.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/19/23

Hey Friends! How are you all doing today? I am doing good.

I have finished my Christmas shopping except for maybe a few stocking stuffers and something for the dogs, the bird is already taken care of.  Do you guys have pets and do you buy them gifts for their birthdays and Christmas?

This week I am still working on the same pieces. This is everything that I have stitched on the calendar tags.

I still have a very long way to go on the borders. I think that there are 48 tags all together so I have some work to do.

Then I also did some work on Marmalade.

So the square I started last week is another mini finish!! Makes me feel good to mark off those small finishes while working towards a larger one. I have now completed 6 of the 9 squares. It is getting there!

Well I would like to wish all those who celebrate Thanksgiving this week a great holiday. For Thanksgiving dinner since we really don't care for turkey that much we will be having homemade pizza for dinner. What will you be eating?

Thanks so much for stopping by,
see you next week with another faithful update!
Stay safe out there!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/29/23

Hello friends! I hope you have all had a great week and for some of you I hope your weather has improved a bit! Unfortunately the cold season is sneaking up on us but if it takes it's time arriving I am fine with that! I know, I know... I live in the dessert where we don't really get "cold" but when the sun isn't out we can be pretty darn chilly!!

So this week I was still working on the borders for the Fun Every Day calendar but I decided not to show it each week because just the borders are pretty boring. You can see past posts if you are interested by clicking on the link. I will probably post the calendar tags at the beginning and then again at the end of the month for the Stitching Stats

I also continued the stitching on the Mike Tyson block for the Nintendo SAL. I will probably finish him up tomorrow or Tuesday.

I just have to finish filling in his body and this block will be finished.

Nothing else really happening around here. I have to start looking through my WIPs for one to work on during the month of November. I joined a group with a couple of friends (one of them is Katie) where we have to work on different challenges throughout the month. This month was a group challenge and I don't think I have stitched so many Xs during one month in a very long time! I really enjoyed it and so I joined a couple of new challenges for next month; every month they have new challenges to pick from. Now I am really looking forward to stitching even more Xs during November!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/22/23

Hello!! Our weather is still hot and breaking records here.  We have had a couple 100 degree days here this past week which is the latest date we have ever had them here. First we set the record on Tuesday and then again on Wednesday. Tuesday's record was probably the shortest record we ever held. How is your weather? Are you having cold or rainy days?

Today I have a happy dance to share! I FINISHED Boo Banner! I love how it turned out. Unfortunately I don't remember where I put the hanger for it so I will have to do a crafty area search for it and hope it turns up, though when I do this type of search I generally have a lot of distractions and so that takes me forever!

I also had another day of working on the borders for Fun Every Day.

Then I spun the wheel and I ended up with my Nintendo SAL! This one has a long way to go so I am kind of happy to work on it.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/15/23

Hello fellow stitchers! I hope you had a great week. I had a pretty good week but it was another was another busy one. I am hoping this week will slow down a little around here.

I stitched on both of the same pieces again this week and one is getting close to a finish!!

First up is one that is pretty boring right now since I am only slowly adding the borders to the pieces that will become the calendar tags. These designs are all stitched on perforated paper so I really have to be careful when handling and stitching it so that I don't rip it.

Progress 10/13/23

Of course I only have this out for stitching for about three hours a week and I estimate that for over two of those hours we are running out mouths talking about any and everything so that I may never get it finished!

Now last week (see post below this one) I put out a question asking for any SamSarah information and sadly I have found out that they closed up shop. Luckily for me I had purchased all twelve months when they were available and now just need to purchase the calendar holder from Ackfeld. If you have never visited their site you may want to take a peek because they have many cute holders and stands.

Next we have one that will soon be off the q-snap!

Progress 10/14/23

I am currently doing the backstitch on the section you see here. I am amazed at how much backstitching there is on this piece, thankfully I already completed it on the top. I still haven't looked for any fabric for the backing so maybe I can get that in this week, but either way the stitching will be finished before Halloween! YAY

So that pretty much wraps up my stitching week. I KNOW I am way behind on blog and email reading so please accept my apology but I really hope to get caught up this week.

and I hope you have time to stitch everyday until then!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/08/23

Hello Stitchers! Here we are at Sunday once again. I have had a full week; I won't bore you with the details but rest assured I have been very busy and I exhausted myself! Not so much that I couldn't stitch but busy enough to not want to do extra stuff.

Anyways I belong to a local cross stitching group and they decided to have a stitchy meet up on Fridays at our local mall. I have gone to the first two gatherings and I tell you I have really missed stitching with others. It was fun getting to know and meet them in person and I look forward to the next get together. I looked through my WIPs/WFOs for something easy to take back and forth and start stitching on and I found this!

As you can see I haven't worked on it in forever!

Now I have a question for all of you... Does anyone know if SamSarah still exists and if so do they have a website somewhere out there in the world? I couldn't find anything on them when I did a search and I would really like to find it.  Thanks a bunch!

Now for my main stitching focus

Progress 10/07/23

I am making pretty good progress with this one and still trying to finish it by the end of the month. Yesterday I was having a little trouble with the blending threads but i finally sorted that out. I am afraid that the purple one must have gotten cut somehome (maybe when they opened the boxes?) and it is coming off in small pieces. I finally managed to get enough to stitch what I needed to and after I am finished I will decide what to do with the rest of the bobbin.

Well I do think I have talked more than I thought I would, sorry.

I hope you have a wonderful week
and that I will see  you next Sunday!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/30/18

Hello Friends!

I do hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and got to do exactly what you wanted to do whatever that consisted of! We had a great day at home eating to much food while watching Christmas movies and playing with our new things.

Ever since the big rush to finish the ornaments I have not felt much like stitching so I worked on a piece that required no concentration at all. This is also my car project, the borders for the calendar.

Fun Every Day

I have also been bobbinating and going thru my stash to clean it up and reorganize it. Success!! It is all neat and tidy once again.

My WIP Box
of 19 projects

So anyways, a while ago Tia saw this saying on FaceBook and told me she would love to hang this in her new office. I said 'Oh, that is nice and it would probably look great in your office' and didn't say anything else about it.  Instead I got to work charting it out and adding a few elements to it. Once I was satisfied with it; I stitched it up for her! I decided to name it Power as I think we all need the power to help us thru situations and take control of them. She was totally surprised when I gave it to her for Christmas and I was only to happy to surprise her!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/28/18

Well as you may remember last week I made a big mistake by using two different shades of purple when I was stitching one of my calendar tags. I decided to stitch the tag over again rather than rip it out or try and save it in any way.

So may I present to you the new start on F along with tags for the Second and Happy Birthday.

Fun Every Day
Progress as of 10/28/18

I decided to try doing three at a time since this is how they get laid out on the perforated paper and it is easier to hold like this rather than one at a time.

Now that I have made some progress on this one it is time to move on to something else.  I think I hear Christmas calling!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/21/18

Hi friends!

This week I feel like I am going backwards in stitching. The project for this week is Fun Every Day which one day will be a perpetual calendar if I ever finish all these tags!

Last time I worked on this one I was working on the Friday tag so I pulled it out and got to stitching. Well, I kept looking at it while I was stitching it. Finally when I got in a decent amount of stitches I took a really good look at the piece and decided that I am using the WRONG color purple!

Fun Every Day
Friday
Progress as of 10/19/18

I circled the two different purples so you can see it easier though after I discovered it that was all I could see!  I contemplated trying to frog the wrong color and posted about it on FB but a lot of my friends said DON'T DO IT! and I decided they were probably right. Frogging is not very friendly to perforated paper.

Here is my new start on Friday.
Progress as of 10/21/18

The tags fit three across on the perforated paper so I do the borders for all three of them first.

I guess I know what I will be keeping out for another week...

My Sunday Stitchy Update 07/08/18

Hi there friends!

I hope that all of you that are experiencing hot temperatures in your area are finding ways to keep cool! Maybe parked in front of the fan in your air conditioned house with your feet up and stitching in your lap? 😉

This last week (or two) I have been working on my perpetual calendar. Filling in the background on each tag is boring and makes my mind wander. I am sure many of you can relate to boring stitch areas! Anyways... I finally managed to finish the tags for the First and February and was working on Friday (hmmm all nice F words).

Sunday Stitchy Update 02/11/18

Well hello friends! I do hope that all my friends that are in the snowy parts of the world are staying safe and warm! I see everyone is getting tons of snow and I seriously don't miss those days!

This week the next piece in my WIP Box was Fun Every Day. It is a perpetual calendar that (as one person pointed out to me) is destined to become a perpetual project!  There are 48 tags in the series and I just finished number three and started number four! I may have a while before I am finished! LOL

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Evening Everyone!

Hope everyone had a fantastic week, Spring is in full swing here, not that we notice a big change in seasons here (but I don't mind that)! I hope that you weren't one of the people who is getting snow in April, that seems like a cruel April Fool's joke.

This week brought me some

A couple of weeks ago Ingrid of Mii Stitch stitched this piece and I commented that I loved it!  Being the kind person she is she very generously offered to send me the chart so that I could stitch it up!

I Love A Carrot
I want to take a minute to tell her once again THANK YOU VERY MUCH! She made my day when she offered it to me and I truly appreciate it. I can't wait to squeeze it into my rotation.

The week I stitched some of the tags for the perpetual calendar I am doing.

My Sunday Stitchy Update (late!)

Morning Everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful week.  It has been gorgeous here in Arizona! Our "winter" temps have been in the 80s and 90s this week and thankfully we don't have to worry about that cold white stuff! They say it is unusually warm for this time of year but that is ok with me; warm is great!!

Last week I worked on a couple of calendar tags

I finished my first one of 48! I thought I would NEVER finish stitching all that blue and it was driving me crazy...but I did it!

My Sunday Stitchy Update

Welcome Readers,

Hope you all had a great first full week of the new year and that you got in some stitching!!

This week I worked on getting the borders stitched on one sheet of six tags for the calendar. I had trouble measuring out the size of the tags (mental block) so I decided to just cut the sheet in half and do three on each half; plus it seems easier for my hands to hold the half sheet rather than one little section.

Fun Every Day
Progress as of 01/10/16

Well that is it for this week... I think I will work on one of my UFO's next week.  I will let the Random Number Generator decide which one.
