My Sunday Stitchy Update 01/04/26

HAPPY NEW YEAR

EVERYONE!

Welcome to 2026 and what is going to be a great year for all of us.

So here is my first post of the year and I am excited to show you the Christmas gifts I made for the others in our stitching group. I made each person (with some assistance from my daughter) resin coasters. It was my first time using the resin and let me tell you; it can be addictive! We mainly have cross stitchers in our group but we also have other people; some crafty and others just to talk, who have joined our weekly get togethers so I will show you the crafty coasters as well.

First up we have an artist in our midst. She like to color and draw, especially Halloween designs! I put her coaster together with some colored pencils, art journals and Halloween coloring book

We also have an avid crocheter who does beautiful work crocheting all kinds of things. In her coaster I added a crochet hook, balls of yarn, a tape measure and some scissors. 

It is laying up against a lamp so it is a little hard to see.

And last but not least we have many cross stitchers! In these coasters I added an embroidery hoop, a piece of fabric, a tape measure, scissors, a threaded needle and some skeins of floss I made of the stitcher's fabric color.

The items in the coasters came from Etsy, mainly in the miniatures or doll house sections. Everyone seemed to like them and now I have to start thinking about what I will do for next Christmas! LOL 

Now on to the STITCHING!

I FINALLY finished my Grandson's Christmas ornament for 2025! I know, I know, it is late. luckily it is for family and they understand my issues and problems! 😊 Here it is...

Finished it off with 186 stitches and two pieces of ribbon.

I was not such a great photographer on the finished one in the middle here, sorry. I was just happy to be done!


After that I actually was able to look through my WIP box to pick out something. It has been a long time since I did that since I was doing the ornaments.  I couldn't make a decision on what to stitch so I just picked up the first project in the box and since I keep them alphabetically, it was the 2024 Blackwork SAL.

It is encouraging to look at this one because it is almost finished! I remember I had to rip out so much of this after I first started it because I had really messed it up. I hope to finish this before I move on to something else.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 10/05/25

Well Hello All! Hope you are doing well. I am doing pretty good.

Last week I fully finished Penguin Ice Slide (the penguin is a bit crooked!) in a simple hoop finish. He promptly hung it up on his bedroom door with all his other penguins. That makes me feel good because I know he appreciates them. Here is how it looks now:

Then today I finished all the stitching on the Blackhawks logo for my grandson. I don't think I mentioned it before, but if you are not a sports person, this logo is for Chicago's hockey team. I had plans to mount it on a stretch canvas frame today. So I went to the dollar store this week and bought a bottle of Mod Podge so I can mount the stitching. Well, I have looked all over and can't find where I put it so I may have to stop at the store again when I'm out to pick up another bottle. Then I am sure, I will find the missing bottle! LOL  So maybe next week I can show you the fully finished piece, but in the mean time here is the logo now. It is not really crooked, that is my wonderful photography skills!

Stitching is Finished!

Now I believe I will return to my Christmas ornaments and alternate with a Halloween piece that I am going to SAL with a friend of mine. Guess I should get out some fabric for it.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/25/24

Welcome to my place today. First I would like to apologize for the late and slow replies I have been making to comments. I really have no excuse other than being lazy and taking an email break lately. Sometimes I feel like I get more junk email than I get in the regular mail.😜Anyways, for now I can't wait to show you what stitching I have been busy doing this week.

First up are the Christmas Ornaments. I took this out on Monday evening but fell asleep mid-stitch! I did manage to get in 50 stitches before I drifted off to dreamland!! So I ended up continuing it on Tuesday evening at the stitching gathering.

Then it was "Stitching at the Mall Day" so I took my sampler about stitching and stashing! Unfortunately I didn't get in very many stitches at the mall. I guess there were to many distractions today. So I stitched on it when I got home instead.

Then to finish out my week of stitches I got out the pretty cascade of flowers to work on. I love this piece but there are so many color changes because each flower has a different colorway to it.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/27/20

 Hello Everyone! 

I hope that you had the most wonderful Christmas this year and that Santa brought you just what you wanted. And now we can move forward to the New Year and hopefully it will a better year than our current one but still with plenty of stitching time for all!

This past week I worked frantically, staying up late to stitch in bed until I dozed off to finish the Snowman Bauble ornament for Christmas morning and I DID IT!! Finished it on the 23rd and FFO'd everything on the 24th. I was so happy.

So then I decided to stitch up my niece's ornament. At first it was a much bigger ornament but instead I (very smartly) picked a much smaller one. That way I can get it out in the mail and it won't be to to late since it should have been there before Christmas. This is a freebie from her Facebook page.

Fully-Finished Gallery SAL May 2020

This month I finished a quick piece for Jacob!  I took two piece that were stitched up recently, It Really Do Be Like That and Take It Cheesy, put them together and made made him a little pillow out them.

 He LOVES it and immediately took it to his room to add to his pillow collection!
