My Sunday Stitchy Update 05/18/25

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful week.  The weather here is absolutely gorgeous, it feels like summer already. I had another week of stitching this and that so let me show you what it amounted to! 

First up was Faith Over Fear. It is kind of hard to see because of the light colors I am using on white fabric. I know, it's really not a good color combo but I didn't give it a thought when I picked the colors.

Added 120 stitches on the 12th


Then late afternoon on Tuesday I met a friend at the mall for some stitching and decided that I would take the I Stitch Sampler with me. I wanted to get some of those flowers in the bottom corner added.

Next up is one that can be a little difficult sometimes, One Hundred Days of Tiny. The squares are pretty tiny and sometimes the more intricate designs are hard to get it all in that square in a nice and neat way. I often complete the square, then take it out, then do it over again; sometimes more than once!

I ended up with 128 stitches after all that.


Then to wrap up the week of stitching I decided to work on a cheerful piece, The Flower A Day. I always think of this piece as a beautiful explosion of flowers and colors. 

I added 115 stitches to this piece.

And that was all I stitched for the week. Not many stitches, only 500 but I am happy for those. It was a rough week but now we are moving in to a new week, so hopefully it will be a much better one.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/09/25

Happy Sunday Everyone.  I hope that you had a great week and were able to get in lots of crafting time. I didn't do anything very exciting this week so on with the stitching! 

It is the start of a new month so I have lots of acrostics and things to work with! 😄 The first prompt I decided to work with on Sunday was the letter E. So I picked out the Flowers of the Month because it is by Ellen Maurer-Stroh.

 

Added 160 stitches


After that I thought I should stitch on some more flowers! So I picked up my other flowery piece, The Flower A Day. This one satisfied two different prompts; the first was "Something spring-like" which is what flowers are and the second was the letter S which I also used the word spring for. 
Managed to plant 119 stitches this week.


After that I was flowered out so I decided to move on to something else. We had a couple of pretty chilly days here so I moved on to three prompts that reflected colder weather. They were for the Winter SAL piece I have. I would need to do these over two days because two of the prompts were on the same list. 

The first day I worked on the prompts A for the designer Alyssa of Stitchonomy and "Something that isn't water but is the color of water" which is the color of the fabric.  On the second day the prompt was "Something that represents time". I didn't have anything like watches or clocks but I think that this will fit in!

Then I closed up the week on Saturday with two prompts. The first was the letter N which I applied to the designer Northern Expressions Needlework. The second prompt is "Something that's a golden color." Well I only have one piece that can apply to both of these and here it is...

And that wraps up the stitching for the week!


I have been looking for and finding floss all throughout the house and I don't understand how it gets here and there and everywhere! So this week I have been TRYING to dedicate my time to cleaning up my floss stash and putting everything where it belongs. It has not been an easy task which is probably why it is in all the wrong places. I still have more to do but I hope to be finished with it this week! 

And no, I haven't found any ornaments for this year so I will still have to look for some; but I have to FOCUS on looking for them.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 02/16/25

New Week, New Stitches! YaY!

I hope everyone is doing great. I am doing pretty good; nothing exciting happening, thankfully. 

My needle had some busy times this week and I am happy with the progress that was made. The first thing I worked on was the 2024 Blackwork SAL and I can't wait to work on it again. I completed all of the January fills. 
 

Added in 319 (638) stitches.


After that, I found the Vase of Flowers that had been missing for a couple of months. It had been tucked away with another chart!  So I decided I needed to work on it! All most finished with the background then there is a little backstitch to do.

Added 141 blue stitches!


The next piece I worked on was The Flower A Day. This piece is so colorful that I can't help but smile when I am working on it!  I was wondering how many flowers are actually on this chart though I know I don't want to count them. 

So I added 92 stitches to this piece.


Then it was time for some more Blackwork with The Steady Thread's SAL. You can really see the design coming through now.. I think it must take a lot of patience to be a designer.

Next up we have Faith Over Fear.  When I started it I changed the green to pink and forgot to write down which pink! I had to to thru a hand full of pinks to figure it out which one I used. I think I picked to correct one, at least it looks like it. I also made sure I wrote down the which number I used! 

Added 136, mostly white, stitches. Hope you can see them.


And finally, to wrap things up; I worked on My Enchanted Snowman! I can even see the progress made! I think I finally got the hang of this one or maybe because I didn't have so many color changes but I really enjoyed stitching on it this time. I guess we will see what happens next time.

Well it is LATE here and I need to go to sleep! So I guess I will close for now. Thank you once again for stopping by. I appreciate it. If I could only get two or three more hours in each day for a while I could easily catch up with everything I want to do.

My Sunday Stitchy Update 01/05/25

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you are having a great 2025 so far and it will continue on that path. Everything is going well here. We have had another warm week though this week we will going down to the fifties for our high temperatures, I guess that means that our winter is finally creeping in. 

This week I worked a couple of days stitching on the Penguin but I changed fabrics before I continued so I could actually see what I was doing!

This ended up with 333 stitches

Then on the first BRRINGO started in one of my groups. No, I don't know why it is called or spelled that way but it is a cute word. But anyways it is like bingo but instead of numbers you have 25 prompts that are cross stitch related. You arrange them on your bingo card however you want to. Then the caller calls out a prompt number so you know where to stitch. Then you stitch whatever that prompt was an you mark it off. The only thing is we have to have full coverage and then she draws the winners name from all the full coverage cards. I just like the fun of it though and seeing what everyone else is stitching.

So the first number called was 14 and the prompt said "Stitch something that reminds you of a family picnic". I looked through my magazines and found a set of seasonal quilts. I decided to stitch one of them because whenever we went on a picnic my Mom would always bring an old quilt for us to sit on.

The next day the prompt called was 22 and it said "Stitch something of your choice" and I think that is my favorite prompt since I can just stitch on anything! So I pulled out the Stephen King House so I  could get in some stitches on it. I really want to finish the house so I can get started on the characters!

On Friday the 3rd they wanted us to "stitch something that reminds you of growth." Well I couldn't think of anything when I was filling out the sheet showing what I would stitch. But when I woke up the next day I thought why can't I use one of the flower designs. I picked one and said something like the flowers are always blooming which means they are always growing.

Managed to get in 185 stitches in the garden.


Then came Saturday! The prompt said the I should "Stitch something from my favorite designer!" So today my favorite designer is Peppermint Purple! I have noticed that the trouble with picking my favorite cross stitch anything is that my favorite keeps changing constantly! That is probably why I have so much stash. Oh well. you only live once.

Which brings us to today! YaY!! Today is another flower day. Prompt 10 said to "Stitch something with flowers" and I just so happen to have a piece with flowers! Imagine that! So I pulled out Flowers of the Month by EMS Designs. I am still working on the carnation and it is certainly trying to be difficult!

I only got in 77 stitches today but progress is progress no matter how much I stitch.
