My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/29/24

Well hello everyone. Welcome to the last Sunday of 2024! Sometimes it seemed as though the days just went by so slowly I had to push them to get them over the hump to the next one and other times they went by so quickly I don't even remember seeing them come or go!

I hope 2025 brings a lot of laughter and happiness to everyone's lives. I am look forward to seeing what everyone is doing and creating in this upcoming year.

So this week in stitching, I had one new start and put in lots of of stitches on my blackwork piece.

As many of you may already know, I stitch lots of penguins for my grandson. So I made a small start on a new one for him.  It will be something I can do at stitching because it won't take a lot of concentration.

Penguin Ice Slide
Daily Cross Stitch

Progress 12/23/24
put in 182 stitches

Then I decided to add some more to the 2024 PP Blackwork SAL. I am still trying to finish the border since I had so many problem with it, I am being extra careful stitching it this time.

Added 182 stitches this time

Then I didn't know what I wanted to stitch so I just reached in the box and pulled out something which ended up being a Halloween piece. I did some work on the Witch's Hat.
I have it 129 stitches.

Then for the end of the week I thought some flowers might brighten things up. Unfortunately the only parts I got to were leaves, leaves and more leaves! It looks like I have to wait for the other carnation before I get any color here so all I need is patience!

Flowers of the Month
January, Carnation
Added 103 stitches to the carnation.

So that is what I did this week. This week I did not work on any prompts and I think I feel better and more relaxed already! Now if the rest of life would just fall in line too then everything could be perfect!

So as always I would like to thank everyone who stopped by!

I love that you come by to see what I am up to. I hope to see you again next week!

Have a safe and happy new year and I will see you in 2025!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/03/24

Well Hello Everyone!  Another Sunday, Another Update. I hope that everyone is doing fine. I am doing pretty good. Nothing much happening here. The weather is still bouncing all around but hopefully it will decide that we are in Autumn and adjust accordingly! The good news is that we have R A I N today!

How was your Halloween night? Lots of Trick or Treaters?  This year  had quite a few Witches, Marios, Spidermen, Ninja Turtles and other characters including one Michael Jackson! It was nice to see so many kiddos out and about but we did have warmer weather (low 80s) so it is easier for them to come out and walk around. Oh yeah, sorry to all of you that lost an hour sleep because of DST. I thought they were going to pick one time zone and stick to it!

This week I have been doing some stitching using the prompts in the "Fandom Stitching Central" group on Facebook while working on the acrostics, from Facebook groups "Magazine Monthly Cross Stitch Challenge!" and the "Fun with Cross Stitch" groups. I mainly follow the Fandom prompts and I fill in the acrostics from the pieces I use for Fandom.

So now let's see what the Fandom prompts were for this past week!

Last Sunday was just a day with no prompts but I needed this for an acrostic so I stitched a little on it.

Lucky Shamrocks
Daily Cross Stitch

On 10/27 I added 100 stitches.

On Monday they wanted me to "Stitch on a project that I absolutely love and explain why." So that would be this one with a million flowers. I just love flowers and this one has MANY to look at in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colors. It is going to take forever but I have patience; most of the time.

The Flower A Day
Designer - Carolyn Manning

Put in 117 stitches on 10/28/24

Tuesday was a fun prompt! "Stitch with blue thread or on blue fabric." Well lucky for me; I have one piece that fits both prompts! So I pulled it out and did a few stitches on it!

Stitched 169 Xs on 10/29/24

Tuesday night I had a super bad sleeping night so I pulled out this piece since there are no color changes and I stitched in bed while watching some home flipping show. I finally got tired and ready to sleep at around 3:30am so I put it away. I really don't like insomnia but it seems to go with being older.

Home is Where the Dog Is
On 10/30 there was 117 stitches were added.

Then on  Wednesday and Thursday both prompts seemed Halloweenie to me so I worked on one piece for both evenings. Wednesday they thought I should "Stitch on a project with a ghost." You can't see the ghost right now but it is there in spirit! LOL Then on  Monday I needed to "Stitch on a project that means Halloween to you." So this one reminds me of Halloween since it has ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and candy on it. Who wouldn't want to stitch it? LOL

Added 113 on 10/30 and another 206 on 10/31/24.

Friday was "Stitch on a project with water, if it is not visible in your stitching." Well I can't find my Vase of Flowers! I have searched and searched to no avail. I decide to work on my Christmas ornaments instead because I REALLY need to get them done!!

Small Christmas Ornaments

On 11/01/24 I added 246 stitches.

And then on to this one... "Stitch on a project you wish would just disappear". When I say I wish it would disappear I really do! So many color changes in one section  that it seems to take forever and ever. One day I hope to finally get thru this piece and my grandson really hopes so too. That is one good thing about these prompts, they give me a chance to get through a lot of different pieces for at least a few stitches.

Dinosaurs
Artist - Stephen Michael Gardner
On 11/02/24 I only added 44 Stitches but I will continue it today!

So that is just over 1,100 stitches for a successful week.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my stitching at
least half as much as I enjoyed blogging about it!

Now to go work a little on those stinking dinosaurs again.

Happy Fall Everyone! I hope that you have had a great week. Fall weather will be moving in soon and the hot days will be fading away until next year and I am getting sad already.

Last week there was nothing exciting going on and I think my life is FINALLY calming down and getting back to where it belongs ~ thank goodness. So, with that said...let me show you my curren stitches!

My Sunday Stitchy Update 08/11/24

Hi Stitchers! Glad to see you made your way over to my place.  We have been having lots of monsoon showers here which help cool off our area.

Once again I did stitching on a lot of different pieces this week! I never dreamed I would start stitching something different each day. But... my friend Katie introduced me to a group where you stitch different pieces throughout the week. It is sort of like an acrostic but they give you six different themes or suggestions and you pick out charts that can fit into those ideas. I find it interesting.

Anyways that means lots weekly of updating! I hope you don't mind! 😎 So here we go!!

The week we started off with the Stephen King House. As you can see I am still "building" the structure and I think I may have to go out and buy lots more black floss!!  I will be happy to get this floor finished so I can move on.

This piece was easy for Olympic day
10! We had to stitch something with a house or building so what better than Stephen King's House.

Stephen King House
The Witchy Stitcher
Progress 08/04/24
88 stitches

The next thing I stitched was The Flower A Day but only managed 65 stitches! I guess some days you just don't have the Xs in you!

For this piece we had to stitch something choreographed by our favorite designer. This one is probably a stretch but I thought that the flowers are beautifully arranged together which I counted that as choreography.

The Flower a Day
Progress 08/05/24
65 stitches

After that I moved to a piece that doesn't really require a lot of concentration! YAY but I would love it finished.

On the twelfth day of the Olympics we had to stitch something with an animal, Hopefully I will get to stitch the dog one day soon!

Home is Where the Dog Is

Progress 08/06/24
211 stitches added this week

Then I worked on the Winter SAL piece, It is kind of a fun piece maybe it is because of the color of the fabric. It is cheery maybe because it is a bright color!

I worked on this piece for two days. On the first day I had to stitch something that is part of a SAL. On day two it was stitch towards your goal on any piece.  This is part of an SAL and I wanted to finish stitching the section I was working on so I continued on this piece.

Winter 2024 SAL
Designer - Alyssa
Progress 08/09/24
366 stitches total

After that I worked on a game from my past, NINTENDO! I am currently working on Metroid. This is not my favorite game but hopefully this one will be finished next time I take it out.

For this piece we had to stitch something you can’t “weight” you can’t  wait to work on. So basically you could just stitch on whatever piece you wanted to.

Nintendo
Metroid
Progress 08/08/24
222 stitches total

And that finally brings us to Spooky & Sweet. This is a cute one, if I can ever ever get it going!

On 08/11 We had to stitch something that is part of a series. This came in four separate sections.

Sweet and Spooky

Progress 08/10/24
Added 210 stitches

Well I want to say that once again,
Thanks so much for stopping by,
see you next week with another faithful update!
