2022 Stitching Plans

Well here we are at the end of the current year and it is time to make my stitch plans for the next year.

I have decided that it is time to get some of these WIPs out and work on them!  As I look at the list though I realize that most of these projects are pretty LARGE! Oh well they need to meet the floss and needle so they can get something done on them.

This is my list of things to work on:

 1. 2022 Christmas SAL from Stitchonomy
 2. A Year of Blackwork from Peppermint Purple
 3. Beaded Elegance Ornaments from Dimensions
 4. Dinosaurs by Stephen Michael Gardner for Flumpkins X Stitchers
 5. Easter Row from Bent Creek
 6. Enchanted Christmas Snowman, The by Dona Gelsinger for HaED
 7. Flower a Day SAL, The from Carolyn Manning Designs
 8. Fun Every Day from SamSarah Design Studio
 9. Holidays Are Mother’s Day! from Marilynn and Jackie’s Designs
10. Live Simply from Waxing Moon Designs
11. Mason Jar Lineup by Barb Tourtillotte for Dimensions
12. Merry Christmas from Art to Heart
13. Nintendo from Armada Designs
14. Quilt Block Sampler by Loretta Oliver for Stitching the Night Away
15. Shades of Gold by Nicole Dostal for Northern Expressions Needlework
16. Stained Glass from Love Thy Thread
17. Twisted Rainbow Sampler by Nicole Dostal for Northern Expressions Needlework
18. Whiskerkins; Hip, Hop and Bob from Carolyn Manning Designs

If I manage to get any finishes in, after every two I will allow myself a new start. Hopefully this will keep the temptation for new starts at bay while encouraging me to stitch faster on my WIPs!  The other new starts I will have is my family's Christmas ornaments which I will probably start in July during my Christmas in July stitching. I think I will put all these titles in Tiny Decisions and let it decide on next pieces.

Thanks for reading my plans!
Now to get my butt in gear and stick to my plan!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
see you next week with another faithful update!

My 2020 Stitching Plans

It is that time, time for me to reveal what my plan for the next year will be.

These are the projects that I have decided on for 2020. It is probably an unrealistic list but I guess that makes it a more interesting (or challenging) list.

Right now I have six pieces that I worked on in the past that I hope to work on in 2020:

Artist - Stephen Michael Gardner
Designer - Flumpkins X Stitchers
First Stitch 01/15/12
Progress as of 09/16/18

As you can see I have been stitching on this one for a VERY LONG time and Jacob (the grandson) has started asking about it again.  I keep moving it from list to list but I think I really need to get busy on it this year! After all I did tell him it would be finished by the time he graduates college and he is in high school now!!

Designer - Stoney Creek
First Stitch  01/07/19
Last Stitched 09/11/19

I have the first three sections of the six completed. I hope to finish this piece up this year.

First Stitch 03/26/18
Progress as of 09/09/18

This one needs lots of love! Mine will have a different layout than the model because I am doing them according to their release date rather than randomly. Right now I would just like at least to finish the layout for the games including their names. I think that is a safer way to do them (knowing me) so that I do not have to entertain the frog.

Pretty Little Chicago
Designer - Satsuma Street

First Stitch 02/11/19
Progress as of 06/02/19

My hometown for 55 years. I miss it a lot but I certainly do NOT miss the weather! I think if I can finish this one up in 2020!

Rose of Sharon
Design Connection

First Stitch 01/10/12
Progress as of 10/27/19

Well here is another long term WIP! It is a little over halfway finished and but I am not sure it will be finished this year either but hopefully some progress may be made on it!

The Enchanted Christmas Snowman
Artist - Dona Gelsinger
Heaven and Earth Designs

This was gifted to me by a good friend in 2018 and I started it right away. It may never be finished and instead make good friends in the WIP Box with Dinosaurs but I hope to at least work on it a bit!

And I am planning to add in these eight new starts for 2020. A couple will be finished off rather quickly but two or three will be long term projects.

A Year of Celebrations
Designer - Hands on Design
I am planning on making this my monthly stitch this year.

Dog Lessons for People
Designer - Lizzie*Kate
A gift from another friend, she also sent the cutest fabric for it;
I just have to make sure it is a big enough piece.

Easter Row
Designer - Bent Creek
I have had this in my stash forever; glad to finally be stitching it up!

Holidays Are Mother's Day!
Designer - Marilyn and Jackie's Collectibles
I will be doing the Easter one this time around.

Quilt Block Sampler
Designer - Stitching the Night Away
This was actually on he 2019 list and well; it didn't get a single stitch put in it!

Shades of Gold
Designer - Northern Expressions Needlework
If you are a regular follower of mine you probably remember that I stitched Shades of Blue a couple of years ago. I also have more Shade charts that I hope to do someday.

The Flower A Day SAL
Designer - Carolyn Manning
I fell in love with this series when I first saw them. I couldn't decide which one to do and asked my daughter. Of course she picked the one with the most flowers on it!

Whiskerkins
Designer - Carolyn Manning
I love these little Bunnies. I plan on stitching the top one first on perforated paper.

Of course this is ALWAYS subject to change (ha ha) once I get started. I have a few others that are waiting in the wings and begging to be but on the q-snaps!

Of course I will be adding more to the list as I think I am planning on joining Rachel's Olympic Challenge. Crazy, right? Adding 17 more pieces to the list but hey you only live once and  everything must get started sooner rather than later! I will post more about those when the time to start that is closer.

Thanks for stopping by,
and seeing what I hope to
accomplish during the next year.

Happy New Year's!

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very Happy New Year's!

Thank you all for taking the time during this past year to encourage me with my stitching and for taking the time to come by and see what I am up to by reading my blog. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

2015 turned out to be a pretty good stitching year for me.  Lots of finishes, 22 of them!  Most of them are smalls but that is ok with me because I love each and every piece I stitched. You can see them all listed here. The Wizard of Oz almost got finished but I still have to back stitch the Scarecrow.  It should be finished by the weekend at the latest and it can be my first finish of 2016!

For 2016 I am starting two new pieces on New Years Day as part of 2016 Stitching Challenge in a Yahoo group I belong to. The two pieces are
SamSarah
It is a perpetual calendar and I have had it in my stash for a couple of years. I still need to buy the Calendar Holder so I will start looking around for that after I am off to a good start.

My second piece will be
Northern Expressions Needlework
Twisted Rainbow Sampler CROSS STITCH version PDF Chart by Northern Expressions Needlework
My daughter and grandson bought me some charts from Northern Expressions along with DMC required for them for my birthday last year. I ordered the black aida and I am so ready to go!!

I will also concentrate on finishing off at least six of my twelve UFOs; my very own UFO Challenge of sorts! Most of them just need small sections finished up and I don't know that I will totally finish each and every one of them but I am going to try! :)

Here is the list I HOPE to get out of the UFO basket...

Wizard of Oz
Cross Stitch Gold Mag / July 2012
Designer - Lesley Teare
Hope to finish up on this QUICKLY!

From My Heart To Yours
Designer - Carla Rizzie
This is a small chart, not sure if it is
supposed to be a biscourn or not??
I will check that out when I get to this piece.
Full Bloom
Designer - Cross-Stitch-Art
LOVE this piece!

Twirl aka Smoosh
Amy Bruecken Designs
This one just needs some words added
as requested by Jacob. Original chart is
a penguin on a box instead of a cupcake.

Shades of Blue
Designer - Northern Expressions Needlework
Have more than this stitched but couldn't find a good picture.

Dinosaurs!,
Design by Stephen Michael Gardner
Flumpkins X Stitchers
I would REALLY like to finish this one...
before Jacob goes off to college would be nice :)

So... what are your 2016 plans??

Thanks for taking a peek,
See ya next time!
