My Sunday Stitchy Update 12/15/24

I can't believe it is only ten little days until Christmas and then 17 until the New Year arrives. I hope everyone is ready for the holidays. I am and was even finished early this year! I only have to make a cheeseball to serve with crackers for the Mall Stitchers holiday get together. We will be doing a White Elephant Gift Exchange also so we should have a good time.

I do miss not having a little one in the house because they would always be so excited; 19 year olds - not so much! I am proud of him though, when I asked him what he wanted for Christmas he said he would like some tuition money to take a couple of college classes. I will gladly provide that for him but boy oh boy have the rates gone up a LOT since my kids went. Due to the cost he will only be taking a couple of classes here and there so we will have to wait and see what his next decision will be. πŸ’–

So I guess we should get on with some stitching. This week I stitched on three different projects and stitched on each for two days. It was one of those weeks unfortunately but I think I may be a on the mend (shhh, when  I say that I start feeling like I an going down again). No fever but my eyes feel like that are very hot, I have a headache that comes and goes and so many other things I'm sure you don't want to hear about.

So first I will show you the 2024 Peppermint Purple Blackwork SAL. "The prompt was Stitch on a project that takes courage, explain your reasoning." Since I had so many visits from Mr & Mrs Frog on this piece I wanted to see if I could actually manage to do it correctly. Trying it again was courage! I contemplated ripping everything out and starting it from the beginning again. I think that this time having the chart all on one page has really helped me. Maybe I can actually finish it soon.

Peppermint Purple

Added 123 stitches over the two day period!

Clare has released the 2025 SAL borders and I have been going back and forth over which one I would like to do and I think I have it narrowed down to two. I know I will be using black aida and now to pick a color, I am considering a green color. Hopefully you will see it soon!

Next I needed to "Stitch on a project with a star." There are plenty of "stars" in the upper left field of blue on this piece it more than qualifies for this prompt.

Lucy Beam
Love In Stitches

I did get in 129 stitches, all on the wording.

My final prompt for this week was "Stitch on a project you dreamed of before finally starting." My daughter, Tia asked me to stitch this for her and secretly I was happy to do so. I saw it and thought that I really wanted to stitch it but knew I already own to many charts and I really shouldn't buy another. But since it was for Tia... well who am I to deny her of something! LOL

The Witchy Stitcher

Only added 113 stitches so I hope she is not in a hurry for it!

Well that is all I have for today.

I wish you a wonderful week and I will see you on Sunday.

Merry Christmas Faith and Family: I am happy to hear you are feeling better, I hope the pain in your eyes and head go away.
What an amazing gift tuition, I think that is a wonderful gift, you have a kind heart. I know rates have gone up terribly.
I like all the designs you are working on Peppermint Purple is a lovely design.
I have never seen the Long May You Stitch anywhere before seeing it on your site, like it very much.
Stephen King House, what a large project but so sweet.

Luckily studying at university here isn't that expensive, I've heard about the high prices at your university. But what wouldn't you do for a good education?
Great progress on your projects.
Have a good week, Martina

Your pieces are looking good, Faith. Hope you remain healthy! The decorating still isn't finished; it hasn't been started. Tomorrow, I say!

I think your grandson's wish for Christmas is such a mature and sensible one, Faith! It is indeed shocking how high tuition is now--my husband just told me that the tuition and room and board at the university where two of my sons went has gone up to $80,000/year! Absolutely crazy! I'm so glad I don't have kids in college these days. I hope you are feeling better--you must have this horrible virus like I had for so long. It seems to be everywhere these days. Nice progress on your WIPs and that's great that you're all ready for Christmas--wish I could say the same. Oh well! Enjoy your week and feel all better soon ♥
