Today is a lazy day in our household. Santa has brought everyone just what they wanted (or needed) and everyone is happy with his selections. We had a late breakfast of French toast and will have an easy dinner of mostaccioli and homemade breadsticks.
I miss the days when my kids and then my grandson were small and there was so much excitement and wonderment with the opening of each gift! Don't get me wrong; I still love seeing each person opening their packages to see what they received but it is just not the same as when they were little.
Anyways once again I went off track; sorry!
So this week I continued with Shades of Gold and I finally finished the first page of 16! It was a long time coming but I am happy to have made it this far.
Shades of Gold
Progress 12/25/22
This one has another week to go before it gets put away for a while. I am debating with myself about starting a new piece on New Year's Day. Tia (daughter) gave me a new kit today so I think that may be my new piece, though I already had two additional ones in mind. Who knows; maybe I should start all three in January to make up for the restraint shown this year at not starting many!
Ok I am going to go now so we can both get back to our stitching.
Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching and I'll
see ya next week with another faithful update!

I understand missing those days when the children were small and the fun of opening gifts. All my GC now have their own family and like to stay at home .
So we get busy weeks before Christmas with the GC popping in.
But I am use to it now ,so is my daughter who comes to us for Christmas dinner .
Life does change and we soon get use to it after time.
Enjoy your stitching I am going to dig in my box tomorrow.
Also a new puzzle is waiting .
Happy New Year.
Shades of Gold is looking fantastic, Faith. Enjoy this last week of 2022.
Shades of Gold looks wonderful.
I'm looking forward to your new project.
Have a nice last week in 2022.
Manuela
I totally understand your missing those days, Faith! I loved last year and watching Mister B open his presents although he was a bit overwhelmed by it all :) We'll get to watch him open this year's gifts in January--can't wait!
I'll look forward to your next project. I really need to find something bigger to start for the new year, too :) Happy 2023, Faith--and happy stitching ♥
Christmas certainly changes over the years. Our children are grown and we don't have any grandchildren so it's a grown up time, fun but not the same. My late Dad used to make our Christmas special. I'm excited to see your new project. Happy New Year x
I agree. Christmas is different. We open everything and it's over. But we made it special.
You know my vote.....start all 3 haha.
Oh yes, I miss those days too!
Your first finished page looks great, I really like those colours.
Shades of gold is looking fantastic - wow, 16 pages, that is a biggie!
Start all the new ones, ha ha! It’s nice to be able to jump from one to another.
Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Barbara xxx 😘
