My Sunday Stitchy Update 11/08/20

Welcome to November! Everyday I am amazed that the year is almost over; it seems like life is going by so fast and 2020 will be over before we know it.

So as I said before I have joined in with Rachel's Naughty November and the New Start Mini Binge!! Believe it or not I have four new pieces in my stash that are ready for me to start. I know, I know... who knew a stitcher would have projects ready to go! LOL  I will start a new piece on the first four Mondays this month and here is my first one!

The Flower a Day SAL
Designer - Carolyn Manning
This is what the chart will look like once it is stitched.

I wanted to start this at the beginning of the year but hadn't dyed the fabric yellow yet. I finally got it dyed and in real life it looks a lot like the color on the cover of the chart.

Then since I am not always a good counter and this is a chart with stuff scattered all over the place and tons of color changes, I felt I should grid the chart. It took two long tedious days but I got thru it and then I was ready to stitch!

Progress 11/08/20

Now to put this one away and move on to the next!

Are you participating in Naughty November? If so let me know because I would love to see what you are working on!! And don't forget your turkeys!

Thanks so much for stopping by,
see ya next week with another faithful update!

Your new stitch looks great such fun .
I keep adding to my stash and keep starting new things so I am already naughty .

What a wonderfully colourful and complicated new start! I can imagine how easy it would be to miscount, so all that time spent gridding will definitely pay off.
Have you considered adding any 'sparkle'? There's so much potential for Kreinik or Etoile or beads throughout the whole design.
Now looking forward to seeing your second new start next week! :)

Oh, this will be such a special piece, Faith! I'm fascinated by your gridding as I have never done that, but I'm sure it would be very helpful and, in the long run, help you stitch faster with fewer errors. I look forward to watching it grown!

Hi Faith,
A great start! Lovely pattern, and a nice job colouring your fabric!
Yes I’m joining in, but my pieces are a lot smaller than yours, so no need to to use grids for me, so far.
I haven’t seen a grid like this before, was it your idea, or did you see this method somewhere?
Hugs,
Barbara xx

That's going to be very pretty when finished. In fact, it already is. Yes, I'm joining in, but not exactly as expected.

Great new start! That's what I hate about gridding. Just takes too long.

Great start! This is a really pretty one, and a nice start after the tedious gridding. I don't often bother, but it's a smart idea, especially on such an involved project.

Faith: What a lovely design, I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
I have never seen a chart grafted like you did this one, rather interesting.
Have a great day
