My Sunday Stitchy Update 03/25/18

Well hello friends!

I hope that everyone is great and you are starting to get some sunshine instead of that Nor'easter snow! If you did get some of that snow... sorry! Four storms in less than three weeks is way to much for anyone!

Well as some of you guessed, this week I stitched on Dinosaurs! It came out of extinction where it has been hiding since 2016.

This is how it looked when it went in the WIP Box long ago,

Dinosaurs!
Artist - Stephen Michael Gardner
Progress as of 08/02/16

and here is my current progress
Progress as of 03/25/18

I did not get tons of stitching done on it but every stitch is a stitch closer to the end! ha ha  I remember why I "abandoned" it... ALL THAT DARN CONFETTI STITCHING! It is enough to drive a person crazy. It took me a while to get back into the "swing' of this one and I think it was because of all the color changes. This is page 7 of 20 so I have a bit to go and I may have to figure a way to get this out of the queue more often instead of putting it at the end of the line. Maybe once I finish Christmas Rules and Scary Night Halloween I should put this into the Monthly Rotation spot.

So stitchers who stitch large pieces with TONS of confetti, how in the world do you keep the back neat? Or do you do like I am currently doing and just feel satisfied with getting the stitches in and think "well nobody will see the back anyway" and not worry about it?

Thanks for taking a peek at my stitching
and I hope to see you here again tomorrow
for my monthly WIPocalypse update
that will be a day late!

A dinosaur pattern! It's a while since I saw one. I can understand that confetti stitching can drive you away from a project - although I have to admit that I like it. Weird, huh? Lol. You made nice progress on it.

Gorgeous! So lovely to see this one again. Alternate the confetti with another project that has big blocks of colour, that's what I'd do. You got a lot done!

So nice to see this one again, and that's good progress considering it's confetti-heavy. I think that it was through this piece that I originally found your blog. When you have finished on your current stint, what about slipping it back into your box in third or fourth place rather than at the back so that it gets a regular outing until you can add it into your monthly rotation? It mustn't be neglected for so long again! :)

Love your dinosaurs! I don't worry too much about the back. I feel lucky just to get the confetti correct on the front.

Great progress and you're right progress is progress. I don't care what the back of my projects look like. Have you tried the parking method? I enjoy it but I know some people don't. I've noticed it does make the back a little better since it covers the places you have stitched. Good luck finding your groove with this one.

Such a lovely piece! I don't tend to worry about the back of my pieces - as you said no-one really sees them so they don't need to be that neat x
