I hope that you all had a great week and if you are in the US that you were able to see some fireworks on the fourth.

This week I started stitching on something new. I was emailing with a friend earlier this week when it dawned on me that I still have not started a few pieces I had planned for 2019. So I decided to get busy with that right away! LOL
So I started this one!

I made a few changes. Of course this fabric looks white here but it is actually more of very pale yellow so the colors ecru and khaki don't show up when you stitch them. I substituted white for the ecru and a gold for the khaki and it seems to work well. Also I left out the black and white stitches from the border.
This was how it looks with the black and white filled in on the border. When I look at this image I feel as though the hearts are not visible. All I can see in the black and white is something that looks like a teepee and I can't "unsee" it! What do you think; fill it in or not?
Well I guess I need to get busy with my monthly stitches. I hope to be back with those updates next week.

Well, I vote for not filling in the border, I think the hearts show much better and I like the open look more too!! I like the quote and looking forward to seeing the rest....Mary

That's a great start to a new start, but what's this with you making so many little changes? Is this a new Faith we're seeing?!
I see what you mean about the border but isn't that weird that filling in the spaces makes the hearts look less like hearts. I think I'd be inclined not to fill it in, or perhaps use one strand instead of two for a more subtle effect. :)
Don't fill in the border! It looks so much better without the extra stitches.
Haha it took me a minute to see the tee-pees but now that I see them I can't unsee them. I filled mine in but it looks fine not filled in honestly. So whatever you like the most is what you should do. Beautiful progress.
Faith: I do see the hearts.
I have changed colors on some designs just so I can see them.

Love your new start Faith. I like it better not filled in. If you wanted to fill it in, maybe you could use a yellow or pale green.

What a great start! I also prefer the hearts as you stitched them, so much better to see them and not so busy.
